The Strategic Proposal Writers primary responsibility is to support the growth of Aetna membership by developing customer-focused, strategically positioned proposal responses. They have marketing, communication and writing skills that allow them to integrate information from multiple sources and customer-specific strategy into a clear, compelling response that differentiates Aetna from the competition. They work on a wide range of proposals for National Accounts constituents (brokers/consultants, prospects and customers). The successful candidate will have the ability to be creative, apply personal initiative and must be well organized and able to manage multiple projects and changing priorities. This position is a good match for a candidate who thrives in a team setting and wants to broaden and grow their health care and insurance knowledge.
We are seeking candidates with experience in marketing, communications and/or proposal writing. Knowledge of the health insurance industry is strongly preferred. An ability to interpret and understand the needs of the customer and work with other team members to create a compelling, well articulated value proposition that aligns the products and programs we offer with the customers strategy is essential to success. We are looking for self-motivated team players who enjoy working in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The position requires an individual who can communicate very effectively verbally and in writing with all audiences, resolve problems, prioritize, multi-task, and build and maintain strong relationships with our field organization and subject matter experts throughout the company. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet navigation is required. A college degree is highly desired along with excellent writing, proofreading, editing and all-around communication skills. The ability to apply the principles of grammar, mechanics, and spelling in written work is critical.

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
