Follow established processes in the enterprise of disassembly, failure analysis documentation, inspection for reuse, assembly and testing of Cummins High Horsepower engines.
Additionally, the Area Lead is responsible for directing the work flow of their area and reports to their respective supervisor.
Maintain records and part/component identity to work order process
Manage work flow appropriately and as directed consistent with Rebuild Production Schedule.
Document, as required, activities and observations of critical technical aspects of engine disassembly and assembly and testing.
Operate, and assist with maintenance, rebuild equipment and tooling safely and productively consistent with established practices of HHP Rebuild Department.
Maintain safe, clean and tidy work area and contribute to cleanliness and safety of Rebuild facility and activities, contributing positively, as part of Team effort.
Assist with operations of rebuild:
Maintenance and repair of equipment in HHP rebuild
Maintenance and storage of HHP rebuild tooling
Cleanliness, tidiness of HHP facility
Safety inspections and safety compliance
Contribute positively to HHP team environment.
A detailed knowledge of diesel engines and demonstrated proficiency repair of engines and components, observing established standard safety procedures.
Maintain current status with Cummins Promotion Professional with passing performance.
3 years of on the job experience with Diesel Engines, including CAT, Detroit, MTU, Cummins or others
3 years of on the job experience with complete engine rebuilds (must have rebuilt engines from the block)
3 years of on the job experience with High Horse Power Diesel or Natural Gas engines, (30 Liter and up)
Ideal Candidates will have the following experience:
Experience with Cummins QSK 30 to QSK 78 motors as well as experience with KTA 38 and QST 30 motors
Experience rebuilding 30 liter and up engines from the block
Additional Duties and Responsibilities of an Area Lead:
- Directs work flow
o Sets example for the team as leader
o Directs all communication to supervisor
Works alongside the technicians
Promotes working relations within immediate team and between other departments
Responsible for reporting concerns regarding work flow and team members to supervisor
Ensures all safety measures are followed
Directs weekly Toolbox meetings
o Ensures JSAs / JSOs are completed
Trains new employees on their job tasks
Follows attendance expectations
Handles paperwork (ex: work orders) where applicable
Maintains company tools
Ensure all Quality Checks are followed before equipment leaves area
Candidate must meet all eligibility requirements to drive a Company vehicle, including but not limited to:
Must have a current, valid driver's license issued by the state in which they reside.
Must have current motor vehicle liability insurance.
Must abide by all local, state and federal rules and regulations.
No convictions for any driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs charges (DUI) within prior 5 years.
No greater than three (3) moving violations within prior 12 month period.
No greater than 2 avoidable accidents on MVR within prior 3 years.

Position is based on 2nd shift schedule. 12pm to 10:30pm
EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently; pushing and pulling a maximum force of 50#.
Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Protective Glasses, Protective Gloves, and Protective Footwear as required.
Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation: Base salary commensurate with experience.
