Skills and Experience Required:

Manufacturing Engineering Technician is responsible for identifying and suggesting process improvements in the enterprise of disassembly, failure analysis documentation, inspection for reuse, assembly, testing and manufacturing of HHP engines. Specific focuses to include tooling, work instructions and overall work flow.



Know, follow, lead, and enforce all Company and customer safety rules, including maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area, and fully participate in Company accident prevention and safety improvement activities.

Essential Functions

  • Identify and troubleshoot process, material, or equipment problems to minimize down time and recommend solutions to Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Supplies, maintains inventory max and mins, and makes recommendations on tools on engines

  • Coordinates and tracks all tooling and gage calibrations needs

  • Develop, assemble, procure or modify existing and new tooling, fixtures, and equipment to ensure efficient production methods.

  • Assist the Manufacturing Engineers with revisions and improvements to manufacturing methods and procedures, including writing change orders and deviations.

  • Complete time studies to quantify processing times and identify areas for process improvements.

  • Assist with hands on training of manufacturing employees on new products, tooling, equipment and process revisions.

  • Schedule, complete, and document routine maintenance on applicable manufacturing and test equipment.

  • Read schematics, assembly drawings, data sheets, and process sheets to perform testing, build fixtures, checkout and trouble-shoot equipment.

  • Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework/repair of non-conforming manufactured product to determine root cause.

  • Perform tests, gather data, and write results/reports with assistance from Manufacturing Engineering, utilizing various types’ equipment.

  • Promote and support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities in Manufacturing.

  • Installs and validates equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.

  • Supports periodic volume increases through testing of production product following applicable processes and procedures

  • HS/GED, or equivalent experience required


Preferred Functions

  • Cleanliness, tidiness of HHP facility

  • Safety inspections and safety compliance

  • Contribute positively to HHP team environment


  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently; pushing and pulling a maximum force of 50#.

  • Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Protective Glasses, Protective Gloves, and Protective Footwear as required.

  • Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time

  • Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Protective Glasses, Protective Gloves, Protective Footwear as required.

  • Candidate must meet all eligibility requirements to drive a Company vehicle, including but not limited to:

-Must have a current, valid driver's license issued by the state in which they reside

-Must have current motor vehicle liability insurance

-No convictions for any driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs charges (DUI) within prior 5 years

-No greater than three (3) moving violations within prior 12 month period

-No greater than 2 avoidable accidents on MVR within prior 3

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience.
