Job Description

An IBM Managed Security Services (MSS) Security Integration Engineer (SIE) is a member of the IBM MSS Deployment & Integration team for IBM's MSS business. The Deployment & Integration team is responsible for management of any IBM MSS deployment project post-sale, during a transition & transformation phase, through to steady-state delivery of IBM MSS services. A Security Integration Engineer (SIE) is responsible for leading the implementation of security products that enable delivery of managed security services into a variety of simple to complex network environments. As a Security Integration Engineer (SIE), you are the technical project lead responsible for, but not limited to: network and security design review and recommendations, technical data gathering, security and policy review and configuration, security device implementation planning, configuration and implementation of security products, technical quality assurance, and introduction and initial education of customers into 24x7 IBM MSS steady state delivery. As a Security Integration Engineer (SIE), you will be responsible for the technical planning and execution of the implementation plan for your projects; leading the technical aspects of the implementations of multi-vendor/multi-device/platform solutions for geographically dispersed customers, partners and/or other service providers, either independently or as part of a larger technical team. As a Security Integration Engineer (SIE), you must have the capability to review and provide consulting to customers on their security and architectural design and have experience leading technical troubleshooting efforts for complex network environments to identify and eliminate network or security configuration issues. As part of providing top quality deployment & integration services, you will use your in-depth knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) networking and routing communication protocols, as well as strong competency (From hands-on experience) in one or more best-of-breed security products. This position may lead projects independently or act as a part of a larger project team, often under pressure with tight schedules on multiple projects. You should have demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, be self-motivated, pay attention to detail and have demonstrated organization skills. During the project, you will be responsible for educating customers on how to use their security services to ensure a successful IBM MSS experience.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • At least 2 years’ experience in TCP/IP networking and routing.

  • Basic knowledge in VPN concepts and technology.

  • Basic knowledge in Project Management.

  • Readiness to travel 10% travel annually.

  • English: Fluent.

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology.

  • At least 4 years’ experience in TCP/IP networking and routing.

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Check Point firewalls (R77.30 or later).

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Cisco firewall technologies (ASA / PIX).

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Other firewalls technologies (Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Vyatta).

  • At least 2 years’ experience in VPN concepts and technology.

  • At least 1 years’ experience in Project Management.

  • At least 2 years’ experience in Security Services Delivery.

  • At least 2 years’ experience in Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure, IBM Bluemix).

  • Certified in Check Point CCSA (R77.30 or later).

  • Certified in Check Point CCSE (R77.30 or later).

  • Certified in Cisco CCNP-Security or higher.

  • Certified in Juniper JNCIS-SEC or higher.

  • Spanish: Fluent.
