IBM Vmware Admin in HEREDIA, Costa Rica
This position is for a Below Hypervisor Systems Administrator within the IBM Cloud. This position will work with the existing Vmware and Active Directory team to manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot and support servers for a mixed customer environment. This position will execute and implement new projects to create and maintain team technical instructions, operating procedures and policies as needed. This position will need to be adept at monitoring and tuning system performance, ongoing operation of the ESXi hosts, hardening of the servers and reporting of the overall security and operational status.
The position will also recommend improvements to the enterprise, and manage new software integrations when required. This position will provide support to Vmware 6.0 infrastructure and Active Directory across the IBM Cloud environment.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
VMware Technology/application such as:
vRealize/vRops, vCloud director, VMware SRM, Vmware VSAN, vSphere 6.x and vSphere Cloud Foundation skillset
Work with problem & change to maintain client SLAs.
Security compliance under the relevant security policies.
Familiarity with virtual server concepts such as VMware and Xen.
Must be a self-starter who can work with minimum supervision.
ITIL life-cycle knowledge
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Senior knowledge on operating system administration, hardware configuration, system installation and configuration.
VMware certification/accreditation an advantage, VTSP or VCP (preferred).
IBM Softlayer/Cloud skill
Knowledge of VMWare SRM (Site Recovery Manager) in a production environment highly desirable.
