You will enhance your understanding of accounting and finance by observing and participating in various activities of the Deloitte U.S. Firms. As an intern, you will work with diverse groups of professionals, gain first-hand exposure to the tools, processes, and services we provide in ensuring the accuracy of records. Work you ll doAs an intern, you will have the opportunity to work in one of the following Accounting & Finance groups where you will be exposed to a variety of responsibilities outlined below:Financial Reporting and General Ledger group:Assist with reporting requirements such as the 2018 Annual Report, Function Specific Subsidiary Annual Statements, Global Reporting, Mexico Reporting, prepare periodic journal entries, assist the team with responding to questions received from the field related to journal entry processing or financial reporting, and update or write procedural documents and process flows.Payroll Processing and Tax group:Assist in the preparation of Deloitte s biweekly Employee and Partner payrolls, use Analytical skills to research and identify issues at the Firm and Employee level, assist in the gathering of data, making deposits and preparing tax returns for multiple companies in multiple locations, and gain first-hand experience to our Fiscal and Personnel Year End Process. Create, review, and enhance procedural documentation and associated process flowcharts. Also, ensure accurate filing and retrieval of processed legal court order garnishments. International Accounting group:Gain valuable experience in the areas of Interfirm Accounting and Expatriate Accounting through setting up interfirm customers/vendors, updating or writing procedural documents and process flows, responding to questions received from member firms or other US Firms personnel, conducting internal control reviews and recommending improvements, review and approve expatriate expenses, and perform periodic reconciliations of accounts.Financial Applications Support Team:Finance is implementing the SAP S/4 Hana system in the fall. This role will assist in preparing for go-live by performing testing, data validation, and other tasks as needed.The teamThe Accounting and Finance team serves a variety of roles: OurFinancial Reporting and General Ledgerteam plays a key role in the maintenance and support of the financial general ledger including the review and posting of transactions, company and account structure and aggregation of data. Our team members oversee the periodic financial closing cycle and the production of the U.S. Firms financial statements. OurPayroll & Personnel Solutionsteam works to ensure accurate biweekly payrolls and timely tax payments. Our team members work collaboratively with other Deloitte colleagues, various tax Agencies and Third Party Vendors. OurInternational Accountingteam is a diverse group of individuals with a passion for excellence. We drive quality and process improvement through collaboration and implementation of technology. OurFinancial Applications Support Teamis committed to providing unparalleled customer service, expertise, and foresight to support and protect the interest of the Finance Channel by having broad and in-depth knowledge of the financial products we support, coupled with a strong technical understanding of the software development life cycle and industry best practices. This enables us to assist our partners/customers with designing, developing, and implementing quality products that are effective and efficient.
