Oracle Senior Product Manager | Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) in Herndon, Virginia
Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
As a member of the product development division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Define project needs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

UGBU is the global business unit responsible for the Utilities vertical within Oracle. Product Management is responsible for setting the product direction for products owned by the UGBU and for assisting the sales force to achieve optimal results.
The product manager works as part of a small but global team responsible for customer applications. You will have overall responsibility and ownership over one or more areas of the Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) suite of products.
The product manager sets the product direction and defines the product roadmap for the CC&B product, analyzing market needs and customer issues, documenting business requirements, and prioritizing enhancements to the product to ensure that it addresses market requirements suitably. You will be working with the engineering team, representing the voice of the customer in the development process from design to release.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical and business skills to the area of customer care and billing applications.
The successful candidate will have over 2 years experience with customer care and billing solutions and 2-5 years of utilities and IT experience in senior roles. The candidate must be good at visualizing big picture solutions, be very meticulous in their work and have very good written and verbal communication skills.
Reports to Director, Product Management.
Own the product roadmap, working cross-functionally and with senior management.
Set the product direction and define the product roadmap for the CC&B product, research and analyze market needs and customer issues, document business requirements, and prioritize enhancements to the product to ensure that it addresses market requirements suitably.
Review design blueprints and finished product for alignment with requirements.
Plan for future product releases including review of solutions, assisting in strategic sales scenarios, resourcing sales with better sales tools, regular interaction with customers, working with customers to resolve product issues, and tracking customer data for product management purposes.
Work closely with other members of the Product Management team regularly to ensure that:
o The CC&B product and other customer application products are established as a market leader.
o The CC&B product and other customer application products are ready for international markets.
o Sales teams are provided with suitable materials to address their key sales/marketing messages.
o Customers are satisfied with the products, building reference sites.
- You will be required to be very familiar with the Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing product, both from a concept and operational level, to ensure your ability to:
o Analyze business problems and determine how they can be solved by utilizing the Oracle Utilities CC&B product and other customer application products.
o Clearly and adequately document future requirements for transfer to product development.
o Assist with marketing work.
o Interact with industry analysts.
o Assist with RFPs and sales presentations.
Review other peoples work and providing constructive criticism and mentoring.
Provide assistance to sales (gathering feedback from the field, helping prepare standard sales tools).
Bachelor s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
Passion for great products and a desire to delight customers.

Ability to present confidently on customer care and billing concepts in front of a group (internal or customer).
Solution design skills.
Ability to accept constructive criticism, and learn from mistakes.
Experience in the utilities industry, working for a utility or at a client site.
Global experience preferred.
Some experience in sales strongly preferred.
