We seek an experienced Content Manager to join a highly collaborative and fast-moving team dedicated to partnering with Higher Education Product Management teams, being a key face of Pearson in our Developmental Math academic communities. Critical to the position in this area is successful experience working with digital and blended products . You be part of a team partners with Product Managers to deliver the highest quality content solutions for products that drive Pearson’s license to win in the market.

The Content Manager is responsible to work with authors that bring leading edge content and teaching models to Pearson to inform products that driver better learning experiences and outcomes and delight customers in margin enhancing ways. The Content Manager partners with Product Management (who holds commercial accountability for product strategy and roadmap) to deliver a product portfolio that meets market expectations for their assigned segment and drives revenue for Pearson. The role reports to the Director Content Management Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering.

Cross team collaboration and continuous reconfiguration of resourcing with flexible, adaptive structures organized around opportunity are critical requirements for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of the Developmental Math content (digital first) supporting on content acquisition, development and curation to support the delivery of value propositions that capitalise on market and customer opportunities and meet learner needs and outcomes

  • Help in the realization of innovative content and content solutions that meet the requirements agreed with product managers across the Developmental Math segment

  • Ensure that our course content is best -of-class in scholarship, pedagogy, curriculum and course alignment, level and also accessibility, diversity & inclusion and driven by insights that are both global and local.

  • Be a thought leader on content and teaching model direction in the Developmental Math discipline area.

  • Scout and acquire new content providers / content solutions that can align with product strategy and roadmap goals

  • Development and management of relationships with leading edge/critical content providers and other partners

  • Give valuable input to the continuous improvement of content management processes - thinking simpler, leaner and faster - to accelerate innovation and time to market

  • Role model leadership characteristics as part of the HE Courseware Content Management leadership team

  • Networking and community engagement (i.e. ICTCM, ACS, AMATYC, STEM Connectors,etc.).

  • Assist in the representation to Textbook Authors Association and other author organizations

  • Collaborate with Product Management colleagues in Higher Education to agree product release cycles

  • Keep-up with competitive trends in content

  • Engage with Legal on audits and other legal issues that are author related.

  • Ensure compliance and vigilance with ADA, D&I and other Editorial Policies.

  • Act as an ambassador for Pearson products, generating excitement and enthusiasm internally and externally.

  • Be part of a culture that promotes partnership, teamwork and innovation

Qualifications

Key Requirements and Attributes

  • Degree, or equivalent, required

  • Content management experience, including managing digital products.

  • Acquisition and development of content that supports market leading products

  • Partner with product management to set and drive content acquisitions strategies that deliver for Product Management roadmaps.

  • Retire or reject content with insufficient validation or demand (for in market content).

  • Work closely with product management to identify margin enhancing/additional revenue opportunities

  • Monitor competitive trends in content

  • Ensure compliance and vigilance with ADA, D&I and other Editorial Policies

  • Development and management of relationships with leading edge/critical content providers and other partners

  • Up to 25% travel required during Spring and Fall season
