The Senior Sourcing Specialist works cross-functionally with MMC’s OpCos, financial, technology and legal communities to execute projects of medium to high complexity related to the sourcing and procurement of data center, cloud / hosting and disaster recovery services. This individual’s primary responsibility is to negotiate and manage contracts between MMC and suppliers. Focus includes co-location services, public cloud services and disaster recovery services. The Senior Sourcing Specialist is also responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with internal clients, providing expertise and counsel to stakeholders on recommended sourcing strategies and becoming a trusted advisor. The Senior Sourcing Specialist has sub-category commodity ownership and responsibilities.

Responsibility

Maintain current understanding of the trends in the data center, cloud and disaster recovery supply markets in general and specifically the impacts of trends upon MMC’s operations Formulate strategic sourcing options, model/analyze each option and recommend the option that will secure differential value for each of the product and service categories Lead cross-functional teams in negotiating appropriate agreements with suppliers as well as supporting legal in finalizing and executing contracts including defining and executing appropriate sourcing tactics in negotiating agreements with respective suppliers. Participate in the structuring of requirements and request data from existing and perspective suppliers for evaluation; review proposals; perform cost/value analysis of vendor’s products and services; and develop materials to communicate comparative results to cross-functional project team. Participate in a cross-functional team in measuring and managing the ongoing performance of selected suppliers and their respective supply markets. Develop materials in support of executive and other stakeholder communications. Maintain consultative relationships with MMC’s technology, legal, financial, and operations teams. Maintain personal knowledge of data center / cloud hosting / disaster recovery services supply market and sourcing capabilities including analysis of market drivers, cost structures, competitive landscape, and M&A activity Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree 5-10 years of experience. Advanced knowledge of data center services / cloud hosting / disaster recovery service sourcing and contract negotiation (co-location services, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS models, etc.)
