Pearson is constantly looking to add to our AMAZING team! We are actively searching for a detailed and highly organized Principal Analyst for our Sales Ops, Reporting and Analytics (R&A) team. One must not only thoroughly understand data, but can visualize how it all comes together for the business and effectively provide your expertise.

In this very important role, you will work closely with the R&A Director to streamline, improve and automate complex business reporting and processes to support Higher Education Sales Operations. You will be responsible for an efficient and effective communication stream within the team with minimum supervision.

The opportunity will be located at our Hoboken, NJ office; however, Boston, MA office will also be considered.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate reporting requests/queries received via the intake process; support reporting intake to ensure issues are resolved accurately and provide guidance and support as required

  • Track and monitor turnaround times on query resolutions to ensure optimal response times

  • Communicate to the R&A Director on a weekly basis of the department activity and elevate issues as needed

  • Assist the R&A Director in the automation of reports and implement efficient and effective monitoring tools with Standard KPIs

  • Lead process improvement working closely with the R&A Director to identify areas of improvement

  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources; Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

  • Develop, modify, maintain and support periodic and custom Tableau reports and maintain analytics tools and reports that drive decision making

  • Assist in preparation of presentations for members of the senior management

  • Train stakeholders, partners and teams on reporting/analytics tools

  • Create and maintain documentation of business processes and procedure.

  • Work with management to prioritize business opportunities and determine information needs

  • Analyze current global policies, procedures and processes to reinforce strengths and create efficiencies throughout multiple business areas and systems

  • Identify new opportunities for analyses of data related to Sales and make appropriate recommendations such as changes to procedures based on data analysis and business trends

  • Provide superior customer service to client teams

Qualifications

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • BA in Business Administration or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education/work experience. Master’s preferred

  • 5 years of experience in operational and process support

  • Expert knowledge of Tableau development required; data management and reading code a huge plus!

  • Superior proficiency working with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of relational database structures and SQL query

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; strong command of the English language

  • Strength in effective delivery of presentations, expressing recommendations and solutions while working with internal and external contacts

  • Solid organizational, analytical, process and task management skills with proven ability to interact at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to manage team deliverables in close alignment with overall departmental and corporate objectives

  • Solid time management skills - including ability to work well under a fast-paced high-pressure business environment, plan, set priorities, adapt to change, and meet established timelines

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time while maintaining a high level of effectiveness

  • Willingness and desire to develop effective relationships. working well within a team

  • Flexibility in work hours to accommodate meetings with teams across the globe
