Job Description

Shell Trading & Supply offers you the unique opportunity to join its trading teams and be part of its global network. This job offers a challenging opportunity to work in a fast moving, dynamic and successful trading company.

Within the Products Trading businesses, the Commercial Analyst is responsible for managing system data and executing tasks in support of trading activities (deal entry), transaction updates, actualization and subsequent settlement. The position assists in clearing red-lines, MDN requests for new counterparties and updates, toggling contracts, and assisting where appropriate the resolution of aged items.

The successful applicant will use system reports to identify issues and follow appropriate escalation when necessary.

The successful candidate will collaborate across desks and functions, and show willingness to cover roles both within desk and on other desks when needed.


  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum three (3+) years experience; the role is entry level, but previous exposure to trading environments and data will be an asset with fired heater equipment operation.

  • Candidate must have interest in, and desire to learn the Products Trading business.

  • Candidate will be able to progress issues to resolution, escalate when necessary, and prioritize workload, maintaining a high level of accuracy and time awareness.

  • Candidate must have capacity to multi-task and be comfortable in ongoing usage of IT systems and tools.

  • Candidate must exhibit initiative and motivation to complete job functions adhering to highest standards of excellence, with clear focus on outcomes and bottom line.

  • Ability to multitask within a fast-paced environment with a detail oriented mindset.

  • Highly numerate and accurate self-starter

  • Can achieve success working independently as well as within a team
