What’s the role?
The Crude Trading Analyst is a contributor on the Advanced Commercial Analytics for the North American Crude Trading Team. This role is responsible for identifying and building technical and analytical tools which enable the North American Crude Trading business to capture additional profits or market share. This role will be responsible for interfacing directly with Commercial Traders, developing tools from their recommendations as well as proactively analyzing internal Big Data for opportunities.
This role is an ETRM Subject Matter Expert and will analyze crude trading activities, including exposures, risks and financial results. The role must be able to determine the implications of trades, understanding the complexity of various types of risk and appropriate techniques to capture the resultant exposure of the deals.
This role must develop strong working relationships with trading functional support groups, and work in concert with all members of the North America Crude Trading Team.
This position requires an energetic and innovative individual, who has a commercial understanding and focus.
Provide thought leadership (SME) on the best practices and concepts for Trade Book and Position management ensuring alignment with financial results.
Provide thought leadership (SME) Data Ingestion, Processing, Analysis and Presentation to aid increased business profitability through Analytics.
Contribute to meeting and exceeding the North America Crude Trading Revenue targets.
Identify and build analytic tools and modelling which enable the business to pursue additional opportunities or optionality.
Contribute to strategy and building of the micro and macro S&D models.
Analyze and recommend required updates to ensure tradebook entries alignment with financial results.
Drive constant improvement of trading tools, processes and systems.
Work closely with all Trading functional support groups.

What we need from you
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in trading and trading systems.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Experience in large volumes of data is preferred.
Experience and interest in data science concepts, tools, and methodologies is a plus.
Experience in cloud computing technologies is an advantage.
Experience in data modeling, data architecture, and data visualization experience is a plus.
Knowledge trading software such as tableu, python and endur is a must.
Desirable to have experience with AI, Machine Learning.
