We are looking for a Development Manager – a creator of high functioning, self organizing agile teams. The Development Manager has proven ability both as a technical leader and in their ability to recruit, retain, and coach teams that can adapt to the ever-changing realities of the e-commerce world. They help to grow and develop the team while at the same time providing leadership and guidance around the evolution of our enterprise architecture to balance delivery and maintainability.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

25%-Leads an agile team to effectively and efficiently deliver features based on priorities established by PO

25%-Highlights technical concerns that may impact delivery order or add significant effort to the PO

20%-Fosters the free exchange of information between development teams

15%-Helps to develop initial scope estimates in terms of budget/time for new or proposed projects

15%-Mentors fellow developers. Ensures that new team members become productive as quickly as possible.

This position reports to Director of Sofeware Development

This position has 8 Direct Reports

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Additional Environmental Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Additional Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

-Familiarity with the architecture of e-commerce solutions at Blinds.com and/or The Home Depot is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:-Experience leading development teams involved in new product development

-Very broad and deep application development skills. Has experience as an application or enterprise architect preferably in a .NET environment.

-Experience with the challenges of application deployment in a zero-downtime world
