Project Managers plan, control and execute a project or set of related projects to meet identified business needs and deliver business value, through acquiring and utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality. This position will lead small-to-medium projects of moderate complexity and risk and has the following accountabilities:

• Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close all aspects of the project lifecycle.

• Mobilize and lead a team with the necessary skills, composed of a mixture of staff and suppliers across organisational boundaries.

• Rigorously manage scope through a structured change management process to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters with focus on delivering the business benefits.

• Create and validate financial forecasts and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and expenditures.

• Ensure appropriate stakeholder change and communication plans and engagements are developed and executed.

• Proactively analyze variances against plan to assess trends threatening agreed scope, time, cost, and quality commitments. Identify signs that a project may be at risk and escalate quickly and appropriately.

• Apply Shell project management and IT control/assurance methodologies, standards and processes including architecture, information risk management, and transition to support.

It is expected that the initial assignment for this role will be on the Global Real Estate Office Change IT Programme, which manages the IT delivery for the majority of our major Real Estate managed office implementation projects across the Shell Group.

  • The role will involve working closely with Real Estate, approved IT infrastructure service providers; as well as coordinating closely with Real Estate construction and project teams to ensure that the IT requirements are met.

  • Design of IT Infrastructure solutions in conjunction with technical teams and service providers and creation of proposals.

  • This role typically delivers infrastructure projects which cut across all businesses and typically include end user computing, telecoms, low voltage design, Audio Video, hosting and storage components; as well as potentially requiring new service developments.

  • Special Challenges:

  • Quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders. Resolve conflict and deliver tough messages with grace.

  • Execute and drive decisions despite limited information.

  • Motivate and advocate for the team while removing barriers so that the team can complete its objectives while managing pressure.

  • Work virtually in a diverse global organization and with major outsourced suppliers of infrastructure and application services.

  • Tailor stakeholder communications material and level of detail to the audience.

  • Remain focused and productive under pressure and recover quickly from setbacks.

  • Balance execution efficiency with risk mitigation, value delivery, cost, and quality.

  • Able to manage several smaller projects at once.

  • Understand and be able to articulate the business strategic objectives and how the programme supports them.

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related fields.

  • Minimum five (5) years in IT with at least two (2) years experience in leading projects or workstreams within projects

  • Agile project experience.

  • Professional certifications related to project or programme management are desirable.

  • Familiar with and able to adhere to project management methodologies and tools.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Unique Skills & Requirements;

  • Experience in delivering medium scale Infrastructure projects/Programmes especially in the area of Real estate office IT projects.

  • Understanding about IT Service Management (ITSM) Practices

  • Experience in Working with Global IT Infrastructure Service Providers.

  • Understanding about IT Infrastructure services like Network connectivity, End User IT Services, Data Centre design and Infrastructure hosting services.

  • Ability to produce high quality documentation both in technical and descriptive nature.

  • Strong relationship skills to work with multiple stakeholders across organizational, business & key supplier boundaries at all levels.

  • Understanding about the wide range of Audio-Visual (AV)solutions and designing planning and deploying such AV Solutions across the globe will be an added advantage
