The IBM Global Business Services (GBS) North American Financial Services sector is currently seeking a MarkLogic DBA with years of experience in large-scale projects in requirement analysis, design of MarkLogic applications and in performance optimization of queries. Ideal candidate will have experience in administration of MarkLogic server and production support experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, and implement a performant and flexible MarkLogic data store supporting a real time data, integration, and cognitive fabric built using Kafka and Java Spring

  • Design, develop and implement multiple MarkLogic data stores including event store, an aggregate event store and an analytic store to support the client's business

  • Work with the application development team to design efficient JSON structures based on a Logical Data Model

  • Participate in all aspects of the software life cycle, including analysis, design, development, unit testing, production deployment and support

  • Code in XQuery/XPath, Java, JavaScript/Node.js

  • Design and development of web applications and Rest APIs

  • Formulate approaches and gather data to solve business problems, develop conclusions and present solutions through formal deliverables

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 7 yrs experience in IT

  • 3 yrs experience with MarkLogic DBA and development experience

  • 3 yrs experience in large-scale projects in requirements analysis, design of MarkLogic applications and in performance optimization of queries

  • 2 yrs experience in administration of MarkLogic server, production support experience

  • 2 yrs experience with MarkLogic server security model, clustering and caching, indexing, search, configuration and monitoring

  • 2 yrs experience in design and development of web applications and Rest APIs using microservice-oriented principles

  • Minimum 1 yr experience data integration, HA/DR, metadata/data lineage and data governance concepts

  • Minimum 1 yr experience writing code in XQuery/XPath, Java, JavaScript/Node.js, XML, XSLT, JSON, Linux shell scripting, and regular expressions

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • 5 yrs experience with MarkLogic DBA and development

  • 5 yrs experience with desing of MarkLogic applications, administration of server and production support

  • Some experience in other NOSQL technologies like MongoDB

  • Experience with JDBC, SQL, SPARQL, RDF

  • Agile Methodology - Experience in developing applications, functionality, services in an agile environment

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. Conscientious about delivering high quality solutions
