Job Description:

The Operations Volume Analyst is responsible for financial recording and tracking of the physical movement of crude from the point of origin to its final destination. The team ensures that each movement is captured in our systems correctly and on time. Duties include resolving any volumetric discrepancies with counter-parties, managing losses, preventing profit leakage, and reporting/analysis on all aspects of any crude movement in our remit

  • Manage all lease purchase volumes in a designated region. Gather necessary data from external counter-parties (customers, trucking companies) and perform scrubbing and validations before pushing the data into payment system. Exercise judgment to ensure that volume is booked as the trader intends while preventing profit leakage.

  • Drive investigation into any product loss outside of tolerance and track loss issues to resolution. Prepare loss analysis for monthly presentation to traders and ops leadership.

  • Resolving volumetric discrepancies related to crude oil movements

  • Respond to ad hoc analysis requests from stakeholders (traders, external counter-parties, other operations teams).

  • Identifying root cause of problems and taking proper action to resolve them

  • Work closely with other teams to research and resolve any settlement issues and ensure that transportation invoices are accurate.

  • Maintain and enhance reports and tools used by the team. (VBA, QlikView, Salesforce)

Requirements:

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Minimum of 2 years related experience.

  • Advanced Excel skills are required.

  • Experience with analysis/reporting on large/complex data sets required.

  • Experience with VBA preferred.

  • Awareness of SQL and basic database concepts strongly preferred.

  • Understanding of analytics/reporting tools (e.g. QlikView, Tableau, Spotfire).

  • Must be able to work with their trader to understand the intent of deals and clarify where needed.

  • Must understand the business and demonstrate a base level of commercial acumen.

  • The work in this role is highly integrated with other teams and interfaces with external customers, so excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are required.
