JobSummary– The P ati e nt Acce ss Manager isresponsibleforassistingtheDirectorindailyoperationsofallPatientAccessfunctionsandservesastheliaisonbetweentheSharedServiceCenter(SSC)andthefacility.ThePatient AccessManagerintegratesthedepartment’sserviceswiththehospital’sprimaryfunctions,develops/implementspoliciesandproceduresthatguideorsupportservice,assessesandimprovesdepartmentperformance,andensuresorientationandcontinuing educationofdepartmentalstaff.Asafacilitybasedleader,thispersonmayrecommendresources/spaceneededbythedepartmentand mayparticipateintheselectionofoutside servicesTheyserveasakeypromoteroftheSSC,whichstrivestomeet and exceedtheneedsofitscustomers.

· Performpatientregistrationfunction whenneededtoensurewaittimesarekepttoaminimum

· ModelAIDETguidelinesinallinteractionswiththepatientandensurestaffareadheringtothepatientexperienceexpectations.

· EnsureQAonregistrationsforallareasofRegistration

· Providecontinuoustrainingforandcommunicateschangestoexistingemployees

· Preparepayrollandcompletesmonthlyworkschedulesasneededtoensureadequatestaffinglevels

· Follow-uponpatientcomplaintspromptly

· Implementandpromoteexcellentcustomerservice

· Workcloselyandprofessionallywithoutsideagenciesonspecialprojectsdevelopedbythecorporate office

· Interview,hire,evaluate,andcounselPatientAccessstaffmembers

· Performevaluationsinatimelymanner

· Trainnewemployeesinallaspectsoftheirassignedjob

· Superviseandmaintain theproductivityofemployees

· Reviewthequalityofpatientregistrationdocumentsonadailybasis

· MonitorandmaintainDailyPreserviceLog,BILL45,andAlphaCensusaccordingtoestablishedSSCstandards.Ifdailyreportsare workedbyacentralizedunit,themanagerisresponsibleforworkingwiththereportsunittoensureaccountsareworkedtimely.

· ActinthecapacityofDirectorinhis/herabsence

· ContributetoA/Rgoalsforpatientregistration

· Conductmonthlystaffmeetingsandin-servicesforallresponsibleareas

· WorkcloselywithMarketFinancialCoordinatorforupdatesandtestingforHISSystems.

· Assumeon-call responsibilitiestoensureadequatestaffandproblemsolving

· Updatecollectionsystemandrequestsrebillifappropriate

· WorkcloselyandprofessionallywithNursingandAncillaryDepartmentsinanefforttomaintainteamworkapproach

· Determinesstaffqualificationsandcompetence.Developsandmaintainsaccurateinitialandannualcompetencychecklists,andinitiatescompletionofinitialandannualcompetencyattestationforms.

· Activelyseekswaystocontrolcostswithoutcompromisingpatientsafety,qualityofcareoftheservicesdelivered.

EXPERIENCE

Minimumthreeyears’experienceinrelatedareawithtwooftheseyearsbeinghealthcaremanagementexperienceORcompletionoftheParallonManagerTraineeProgram.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

Workisperformedinanofficeenvironmentorhospitalsetting.Requiresprolongedsitting/standingforlongperiodsoftime(dependingonthedurationoftheshift,thiscouldbe7-10hours),somebending,stooping,walkingandstretching.Requireseye-handcoordinationandmanualdexteritysufficienttooperateakeyboard,photocopier, telephone,calculatorandotherofficeequipment.Requiresnormalrangeofhearingandeyesighttorecord,prepareandcommunicateappropriatereportsorotherinformation.Requiresliftingpapers/boxesandpushing/pullingupto25poundsoccasionally.Pushingcomputercartonwheelswhileregisteringpatientsduringthedurationoftheshift(whichcouldbe7-10hours).Workmaybestressfulat times.Contactmayinvolvedealingwithangry,upsetoremotionalpeople.Staffmustremainflexibleandavailabletoprovidestaffingassistanceforany/alldisasteroremergencysituations.
