The Gulf Coast Division Office is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) Intake Coordinator – Behavioral Health ARC.

Position goal: The RN Intake Coordinator in conjunction with the Program Director coordinates the pre-admission assessment process and provides clinical assessments for potential patients. Also, assists with community education with clinical issues and participates with community events such as health fairs. Fulfills departmental responsibilities consistent with the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of HCA.


  1. Complies with applicable hospital policy/procedure.

  4. Able to assess and reassess needs of patients.

  5. Channels concerns appropriately.

  6. Completes assessments in a timely manner.

  7. Coordinates and participates with appropriate interested parties and physicians through the patient referral inquiry, admission, treatment and discharge process.

  8. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of work practices.

  9. Demonstrates ability to set priorities.

  10. Demonstrates good judgment in handling situations not covered by verbal or written instructions.

  11. Ensures patient rights and confidentiality.

  12. Ethics and Compliance.   20. Provides input, suggestions and support appropriately.

  21. Provides on and off site clinical assessments for potential patients to the program.

  22. Provides ongoing education to patients and families as needed.

  23. Provides resources and support for patients before, during and after treatment.

  24. Supports the vision, mission and values of the hospital.

  25. Track and report on all key indicators related to calls, assessment, admissions.

  26. Works collaboratively with hospital departments to assist managing behavioral health assessment needs.


License / Certifications / Requirements: * Must be licensed to perform clinical assessments for patients potentially being admitted to a behavioral health program.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing, or a current Texas RN License.

Experience: Prefer 1-3 years experience in a behavioral healthcare setting performing clinical assessments or in a clinical treatment setting.
