Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Environmental Project Manager in our Houston, TX office, with a background in environmental and regulatory compliance for employment in our Houston office to support environmental projects. This experienced practitioner will be focused on growing client relationships, managing clients, directing teams for project/task execution, and leading our EHS compliance team.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Development and growth of new and existing clients in multiple market sectors for EHS related project opportunities.

  • Management of junior and mid-level EHS staff in the Houston office.

  • Coordination and work on specialized EHS projects, environmental compliance programs, and regulatory approval compliance for public and commercial facilities

  • Preparation of complex reports, permit applications, compliance plans, audits, and other technical documents

  • Development of cost estimates and proposals

  • Complete project administration, including client liaison and budget management

  • Comply with and drive the quality management system and health and safety

  • Excellent technical, time-management, project management, and employee and client relations skills

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills, including technical report writing and data evaluation capabilities as well as detailed field (on-site) observations and associated documentation

  • Excellent organizational skills, including being capable of tracking multiple simultaneous deliverables and deadlines, at times for multiple clients

  • Time management skills are critical, as the candidate must be able to meet deadlines and balance work loads

  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as the skills necessary to operate as a primary staff member or practitioner on various types of environmental projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or other relevant scientific discipline

  • 10+ years of environmental project management experience

  • Strong knowledge of environmental compliance requirements and development and implementation of regulatory compliance programs related to CAA, CWA, RCRA, CERCLA, EPCRA, OPA, etc.

  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with the use of standard software packages including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification (e.g., PE, CHMM, CPEA, CSP) preferred

  • HAZWOPER 40-hour, and current on 8-hour refresher

Additional Information:

  • Must possess a valid Driver's license

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

  • Relocation and Per Diem are not available for this position

  • Short term travel is required
