Job Description:

This role is responsible for identifying and building technical and analytical tools which enable the business to capture additional profits or additional market share. This role will also be responsible for identifying profitable commercial opportunities utilizing both technical and fundamental analysis, including contributions to the micro and macro S&D modeling.

This role is responsible for tracking and analyzing crude trading activities, including exposures, risks and financial results. Determining the implications of different deals on the trading book and understand the complex levels of risk and appropriate techniques to manage the resultant exposure of the deals.

This role must develop strong working relationships with trading support groups, and work in concert with all members of the STUSCO crude trading team.

This position requires an energetic and innovative individual, who has a commercial understanding and focus.

Contribute to strategies for harnessing large volumes of data in a manner that support profit generation.

Contribute to strategies for Trading systems and data management.

Contribute to meeting and exceeding the Trading Revenue targets.

Contribute to strategy and building of the micro and macro S&D models.

Identify and build analytic tools and modeling which enable the business to pursue additional opportunities or optionality.

Manage daily exposure and P&L.

Manage tradebook entries to ensure alignment with financial results.

Work closely with all Trading support groups.

Drive constant improvement of trading tools, processes and systems.

Be a self starter

Have strong inter-personal skills.

Have the desire and ability to work in a fast-paced and open trade floor environment.

Have an Agile mindset/approach to problems.

This role will not have direct reports but is required to demonstrate leadership through subject matter expertise applied to finding and proposing solutions to issues and problems.

The position will typically be engaged in multiple concurrent issues. An ability to provide practical, hands on assistance and issue resolution is essential, and a key challenge is to be able to balance detailed execution against the broader stream of task objectives and timelines which may require additional working hours to manage. The ideal candidate will be able to easily move between business and technical perspectives.

Requirements:

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum five (5+) years’ experience

  • Commercial Mindset

  • Experienced in Trading and trading systems

  • Experienced with large volumes of data

  • Experience and interest in data science concepts, tools, and methodologies

  • Experience in cloud computing technologies

  • Experience in data modeling, data architecture, and data visualization experience

  • Experience with Project frameworks/Software development lifecycle

  • Experience with object-oriented programming

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Data Centric

  • In touch with emerging technologies

  • The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple concurrent issues in a high change environment and problems and apply a high level of energy to their resolution.

  • The successful candidate must enable a co-operative, team-oriented approach to defining problems and agreeing their resolution.

  • Desirable to have in depth knowledge of STUSCO Crude’s Endur system and its design.

  • Desirable to have programming experience.

  • Desirable to have experience with AI, Machine Learning.
