CBRE Wellness Center Specialist in Houston, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to conduct and personally instruct various health and fitness programs including aerobics classes and personal training sessions for members. Assists the Wellness Center team by monitoring the facility and fitness equipment to ensure safety standards are maintained and members are provided a safe and inviting environment. The ideal candidate will possess an exercise science degree and 1-2 years of experience in the fitness industry

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates and implements member health and fitness events, educational seminars, clinics and workshops developed by Wellness Center Manager. Manages Wellness/Fitness incentives during the year.

Consults with members to determine personal training needs. Sets up and conducts personal training sessions.

Properly opens and/or closes the wellness center facility according to the Standard Operation Procedures.

Maintains a friendly, open and helpful relationship with all members and bring any issues and concerns to the attention of the Wellness Center Management team.

Performs orientation, fitness assessments and consultations. Maintains member utilization reports, files, logs and records.

Compiles, analyzes and reports facility and program data to meet operational needs.

Monitors equipment use and notifies the Wellness Manager if maintenance is needed.

Assists with Group Exercise/Sport and Recreation programs as needed.

Represents Wellness Program at client meetings.

Adheres to and enforces specific Wellness Program requirements.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by remaining current with industry trends.

Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree) equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Physical Education, Health Science or related field of study preferred.

2+ years experience in commercial or corporate fitness setting teaching or coaching preferred.

1+ years experience in personal training.

Minimum of one year experience as group exercise instructor

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

Current certification as a group exercise instructor and/or personal training certification and CPR and First Aid certifications required.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Must possess competent knowledge of exercise principles and fitness testing. Able to sustain excessive physical activity for extensive periods of time.

Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite Products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
