Job Details:

Job Summary

Performs mechanical engineering design on complex components for production. Prepares detailed drawings of mechanical or electrical parts, components, and assemblies for engineering, manufacturing, or repair purposes using SolidWorks or other CAD equipment.

Day-to-day:

  • Generate/update GATR component and assembly drawings required for MRP BOM restructuring

  • Generate/update GATR assembly drawing trees

  • Generate new product drawings/documentation

  • Provide design studies on a large spectrum of products (precision and larger pieces)

  • Initiate and execute Engineering Change Requests

  • Work with GATR product line and generate concepts for component improvement

  • Perform mechanical test and evaluation on components

  • Mentor junior engineers

  • Working outside in weather at customer sites on occasion

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineer degree

  • 5-8 years' mechanical design experience

  • Strong 3D solid modeling & drafting experience using SolidWorks, SolidEdge or ProE

  • Solid understanding of mechanics, heat transfer, physics, and strengths of materials

  • Familiar with sheet metal, CNC, injection molding, and cast parts fabrication

  • Ability to climb ladders and work in extreme weather conditions, manual dexterity

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
