What You’ll Get to Do:
Be part of a dynamic team that enhances and sustains the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) collection, processing, exploitation, dissemination, production and archiving capabilities of the Special Operations Forces Planning, Rehearsal, and Execution Preparation (SOFPREP) system. The system provides operational intelligence support to enable integrated SOF mission planning and rehearsal for real-world combat environments. SOFPREP produces three-dimensional (3D) scene visualization databases and enhanced GEOINT data (maps, imagery, and terrain data) in support of SOF training, planning, rehearsal and execution systems. SOFPREP’s mission is to support battlespace visualization so that SOF units know the area they will operate in before they get there.
More About the Role:
Under general supervision:
lead a dynamic systems engineering team;
to supports SOFPREP’s Geospatial Intelligence Data Management (GIDM) system;
Engineering input, file, store, archive and retrieve GEOINT source data, data sets and SVDs through the G-MIS user interface.
Support maintenance of the GEOINT archive system, dissemination of geospatial data and products, management of the GEOINT archive baseline for annual inventory and configuration, and conduct software test and user assessment of emerging GEOINT data management tools and applications that may be used to enhance the SOFPREP data management workflow process.
Lead integrator for a GEOINT data and scene visualization database generation center for processing, exploitation, and dissemination.
Supports an organic modeling and simulation infrastructure and equipment.
SOFPREP’s two petabyte node is the authoritative source of SOF-specific, high resolution GEOINT data.
The SOF-common repository delivers a standard geospatial foundation of globally correlated real-world data to enable interoperable SOF mission rehearsal anywhere in the world.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
BS/MS in Computer or Information Science, Software Engineering, or related field and
8 yrs of hands-on technical experience in Cisco routing and switching technologies (IOS and NX-OS) with focus on Nexus 5000 series and Fabric Extenders and Unified Computer Systems.
Active Secret Clearance
Additional experience to include MS Windows/UNIX (Solaris) operating systems, computing and storage technologies, systems/network engineering, leadership and management skills.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
DoD Directive 8570
Security+ cert is a plus.
PMP or Agile certifications are a plus.
