Who you are:

  • As a Database Administrator, you will have to be Self-directed and work with minimal supervision as well as provide direction and oversight to your peers and provide regular update to team lead.

  • You will work with functional teams, technical teams, and consultants to identify database needs and requirements and translate into technical designs.

  • Maintain and monitor Oracle databases in a multi-site 24/7/365 environment.

  • Install, index, tune, size, upgrade and maintain Oracle databases for projects as needed.

  • Optimize configurations for development environment at the structure, data and server levels.

  • Coordinate development efforts, upgrades, fixes, and patches with other technical staff and vendors working with Change Control on scheduling and approval as needed.

  • Provide technical support,troubleshooting and document in Service Now.

  • Copy/clone databases and/or refresh schemas in the development environment.

  • Verify regular database back-ups and perform database recovery and restoration in production and non-production environments.

  • Plan, implement and monitor database disk space usage; analyze and provide recommendations as needed.

  • Manage database security including authorization, control over access, and other security measures; run reports on accounts and conduct security audits as needed.

  • Perform SQL tuning and debugging and PL/SQL development.

  • Provide support for scheduled server maintenance.

  • Support ongoing process improvement and automation (e.g., scripting).

  • Support for new application releases including file sharing and configuring tools.

  • Document the databases.

  • Adhere to technical services security policies and guidelines in the daily performance of database activities.

  • Participate in planning and implementation of database disaster recovery.

  • Provide coverage for after-hours on-call support as required

What you'll do:

  • You will work with engineers to determine end solutions for each project by comparing hardware/infrastructure alternatives in conjunction with cost, use, growth, supportability, etc. Works on multiple complex projects.

  • You will collaborate with application architects, product managers, business analysts and technical management team to design, develop and document databases, schemas, tables, functions, triggers, procedures, relationships and other necessary aspects of the database.

  • You will be responsible for the configuration,implementation of complex monitoring tools for reporting and alerts on significant application and system level events.

  • Build and designs database structures and standards to meet project requirement.Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design.

  • Interacts frequently with clients, vendors and management to ensure high level of client happiness. Acts as technical resource and point of contact for team members.

  • Engages in identifying and resolving complex problems relating to product/service installation, update, configuration, operations, performance, or other aspects of information technology products and services.

  • Possesses an in-depth knowledge of technical solutions and management tools.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 4+ years of experience leading and supporting production databases

  • Experience in oracle 10g/11g/12c Database Administration Upgrades

  • Experience of oracle 11g, 12c and exadata technologies

  • Hand on experience Oracle Enterprise Manager(OEM) is required.

  • Experience in database operations automation, alert and monitoring Backup and Restore

  • Hands on experience in data modeling and design

  • Ability to handle diverse situations and rapidly changing priorities with deadlines

  • Exposure to DB2, SQL Server database technology is a plus.
