About the product team:
Food & Beverage Global Business Unit (FBGBU) is a hospitality domain which is developing and testing the Point Of Sales products. These products support a lot of different hardware systems like POS workstations, printers, hand held devices etc., and the software products we develop and support need to be mandatorily tested on these devices. The functionalities of the software developed by Oracle FBGBU need to be tested before the release to the customers.
3-5 year of experience in Chef, Ansible, Puppet or any other equivalent tool.
Deployment experience and ability to configure and automate builds, manage the release process and trigger automation suite from automation server.
Working experience of JIRA, Maven, Jenkins / Hudson, GIT, ANT scripting.
Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration.
Expertise in automating the manual tasks with Shell scripting using Perl or Python.
Functional expertise on Ruby.
Good exposure on the applications deployed on the Linux platforms.
Exposure to Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment/Delivery process.
Experience in working on SOAP Web Services and Web APIs using SOAP UI
Roles & Responsibilities:
Some of the responsibilities include:
The engineer has to develop the Cheff scripts for one of the F&B products. He has to design and modify the existing scripts which are used in our Cloud environment.
He should be able to colloborate with Engineering team and understand the changes / requirments and able to develop scripts to support CI / CD process.
He should manage the build deployment and running daily automation scripts.
Able to design and modify the scripts whenever the product changes happen.
Able to understand the Techstack changes and design the scripts as per the requirement.
Able to do the feasibility study of the developing Cheff automation of the products which are integrating to our product.
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Develop, analyze and maintain tools that support and automate processes for hardware or software product release.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided external specifications. Specify, design and implement minor changes to existing software architecture. Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically four years of software engineering or related experience needed.
