Principal Member Technical Staff
Oracle PE&O DIS is seeking a Devops
Engineer to work with our Global Operations team as Principal System
Administrator for Site Reliability Engineering which involved Linux Kernel
level analysis, fine tuning performance, Configuration Management and
automation. This position requires
wide and overall knowledge in Linux, Cloud administration and candidate with
automation skills in Python/Shell is preferred. Candidate should also have knowledge on virtualization,
cloud computing and networking technology.
While his/her primary role is to work on unix infrastructure support,
Image management in cloud and non cloud environments, s/he will be also
occasionally required to take active role in testing applications, and
diagnosis of IT problems outside their scope of responsibility. A successful
candidate will be required to have a broad range of knowledge and experience,
as well as be a quick learner to understand and work with specialized systems. Candidate should have knowledge of managing
network and VLAN configurations, setting up VPNs and security controls,
managing system monitoring and alerts, and supporting customer's virtual
environments. In addition, the candidate should have exposure to automation,
and management of virtual resources, scalability, high availability, and
disaster recovery of virtual system environments. These solutions will
integrate with Oracle’s on-demand, self-service applications for environment management
across multiple regions.

The role requires a deep understanding of Linux, Solaris, Virtualization, Cloud
administration, automation and knowledge of Networking and services running
on virtualized and non-virtualized platforms. The role’s primary focus is the
simplification of providing instances of Oracle company’s products and
services by leveraging software development and industry standard solutions
to automate the many tasks required to enable and manage our offerings. In
addition, this role is responsible for architecting new solutions, resolving
complex problem, creating and improving procedures and facilitating
communication. Other duties include researching, proofing, and authoring
technical documentation that are beneficial to the company. Responsibilities
also include providing various technical solutions to the business. This is a

The work can be demanding at times,
particularly as deadlines approach extra hours may be required based on the
candidate's effective deliverable capacities.
Engineering Graduate with required job
experience and expertise (Degree in Computer science preferred)
Experiencein Linux kernel level analysis, identifying kernel & OS bug andPerformance tuning.
Experiencein Virtualization technology like KVM, OVM, Xen & HyperV (Experience in KVM would be advantage)
Experiencein configuration tools like Chef, mCollective, Ansible and Puppet wouldbe advantage.
Exposureand experience in AWS, Cloudstack or Openstack
Experiencein automation using Python/Ruby/Shell
Basicknowledge of LAN/WAN (Ethernet, TCP/IP etc.) and related experience(mandatory).
Effectivecommunication skills via phone and email in English are mandatory.
Possessand demonstrates strong logical-thinking skill, full of intellectualcuriosity and high desire for self-development.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
