Position Summary

Responsible to operate machinery and process products according to specifications to meet production demands, while operating mechanical equipment in a safe and effective manner.

Minimum Requirements

Degrees

High School Diploma (Preferred)

or GED preferred.

Job Experience

Prior experience with machine or equipment operations preferred. Experience with food equipment or experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

Operate machinery and process products according to specifications using food production equipment; ensure safety, quality and quantity requirements are met in a consistent manner.

Ensure proper machine setup, operations/job tasks (i.e., start up, change over, shut down), cleanliness and sanitation requirements, safety procedures (i.e., GMPs, Lock-Out, Tag-Out, etc.) are followed to ensure food safety and quality. Demonstrate accuracy and only operates equipment following proper training and certification.

Maintain product knowledge to include sizes, varieties, sensitivity, location, and background of products; identify defective and damaged product and apply correct actions to improve product quality.

Maintain and ensure the cleanliness of the work environment, effective use of equipment and compliance with facility procedures.

Ensure products and processes meet the SQF (Safe Quality Food) code and practices to provide the safest and highest quality product available.

Knowledge, Skills Abilities

Must be able to follow verbal (oral) and written instructions. Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced food production/manufacturing operation to meet scheduled deadlines. Able to safely operate equipment/machinery; must follow safe working practices in accordance with Company safety policies and practices. Basic mathematical and literacy skills and ability to understand effects between yield and productivity.

Must report for work regularly and on time as scheduled. Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s) and works well with others. Must perform assigned tasks accurately and completely. Must be flexible and able to handle changes in work requirements productively.
