Oracle Software Developer 4 in Indianapolis, Indiana

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

The appliance development team gets to work across a wide range of technologies to support world class backup and recovery. Our job is to ensure all the components of the Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance work seamlessly together. Constantly pushing to define, and develop the end to end automation of complex work-flows found in day to day management of the Appliance, backup, recovery, and general Database / Systems Administration.

As part of our team you will work with a wide variety of technology to enable the success of the ZDLRA. Our team develops software, process and solutions in the following areas:

  • Database and Operating Systems Automation and Development

  • Cross Systems Development

  • Systems Security

  • Backup and Recovery Automation

  • TCP/IP and Fiber SAN Networking

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science

  • Expertise with Linux, Exadata, or Oracle Database

  • Development experience with Perl, Unix Shell, SQL, PL/SQL

  • Development experience with a general purpose language such as Python

  • Experience with Systems or Database automation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment
