What You’ll Get to Do:
As an AFRICOM EW Research Analyst – Space Systems, you will Provide subject matter expertise in space system associated with electromagnetic spectrum (EMS)
to develop plans in support of managing the EMOE. Analyze electromagnetic interference and technology associated with space systems and its effect on the EMOE. Design, analyze, model, test operations space system for communications, sensing and electronic warfare systems operations. Utilize software to develop quantitative analyst and constructive modeling and simulation, orbit determination, analysis across space system decisions, capabilities and space system requirements
to support planning efforts. Utilize experience with tools such as GIANT, GALE/GALE‐Lite/ FADE/MIST; SOAP, STK, MATLAB/Simulink to develop models and simulations. Coordinate across intelligence communities and DoD intelligence organization (Combat Support Agencies‐CSAs) to prepare and respond to various request for intelligence information to support planning efforts. Support in developing EMS staff estimate and other planning documents to implement command targeting priorities by leveraging all available intelligence and operational databases across different
domains of classification levels. Utilize space expertise to support both contingency and crisis planning efforts in developing, refining and coordinating staff packages to support operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Support development of CCMD Africa Command Instructions, Africa Command Manuals, Operating Instructions, Technical Training Plans, and Standard Operating Procedures related to JEMSOC.
Support planning for the integration of joint and combined EMS operations into overall military operations in each exercise plan, CONPLAN, OPLAN, and operation order.
Support development and management of the electromagnetic operational environment (EMOE).
Identify information (intelligence and non-intelligence) support requirements for EMS operations.
Support tracking and resolution of EMS interference.
Support procedures for spectrum frequency deconfliction within overall SM that allow for timely and accurate production and dissemination of a JRFL and EMS frequency deconfliction analysis.
Provide data to support development of EMS targeting folders, and integrate EMS targeting into the joint targeting process via the Joint Targeting Coordination Board and the Joint Integrated Prioritized Targeting List.
Support EMOE incorporation into the USAFRICOM User Defined Operational Picture.
Identify how AFRICOM can utilize EW capabilities to enhance current operations, crisis response, and FP.
Coordinate with other EW stakeholders across AFRICOM, DoD, and the broader interagency community to foster innovative solutions to improve processes and procedures and to promote IO objectives.
Prepare briefings and provide Request for Information (RFI) responses as required by AFRICOM.
Support IO-focused assessment efforts which includes assisting with the development of tailored MOE and MOP.
Develop, nominate, and coordinate requirements within AFRICOM and with the JS, other Combatant Commands, and other Government stakeholders.
Assist with ACCM and special activities planning.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in engineering or related discipline or related STEM discipline.
Active TS/SCI security clearance
12 or more years’ experience in the design, analysis, modeling, testing, or operation of space systems for communication, sensing, and electronic warfare (EW) operations.
Experience and skills in software development, quantitative analysis, constructive modeling and simulation, orbit determination, decision analysis, capability analysis, system engineering, requirements analysis and trade studies, analyses of alternatives, experiment design, military utility analysis, and architectural analysis.
7 years’ experience with modeling and simulation tool sets, to include GIANT, GALE/GALE-Lite, FADE/MIST, SOAP, STK, MATLAB/Simulink.
5 years’ experience with preparing requests for information and interacting with intelligence community data repositories, to include MIDB.
5 years’ experience in Joint Special Technical Operations planning.
Complete working knowledge of the JPP, Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES), and APEX planning formats and guidance.
Excellent written and verbal communications and briefing skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office Applications.
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:
Experience in the AFRICOM AoR.
Master’s degree in engineering with a focus on space system operations, radar, sensors, communications, or signal processing.
15 or more years’ experience in the design, analysis, modeling, testing, or operation of space systems for communication, sensing, and EW operations.
8 years’ experience with modeling and simulation tool sets, to include GIANT, GALE/GALE-Lite, FADE/MIST, SOAP, STK, MATLAB/Simulink.
6 years’ experience with preparing requests for information and interacting with intelligence community data repositories, to include MIDB.
3 years’ experience with modeling and simulation tool sets/technology Builder.
Familiarity with Joint Spectrum Interference Resolution.
Recent Combatant Command planning experience.
Joint Professional Military Education (JPME).
Joint Targeting experience.
