CACI International Operations Research Analyst - Wargame & Assessments in International, Germany

Job Description

The AFRICOM Operations Research Analyst is responsible for providing quality control data and analysis of AFRICOM Command objectives and outcomes.

What You’ll Get to Do:

The Operations Research Analyst will provide support to USAFRICOM leaders with quantitative analysis of operations, processes, and capabilities to maximize operational effectiveness, identify emerging trends, and mitigate risk. Duties will include taking structured and unstructured data from external data sources. Cleaning, collating warehousing, and maintaining data, then distilling the information into a cohesive analytical products. You will provide quantitative analysis and qualitative assessments to support and inform decision making. Conduct collaborative operations research outreach to other DoD, IC, and governmental ORSA analytic entities. Facilitate metrics development and application of analytical techniques and facilitate metrics development and application of analytical techniques. Analyze large data to identify trends and patterns within the data using complex mathematical models and statistical tests to identity merging trends.

These analysts will support the data needs of the USAFRICOM campaign assessors and Wargame analysts.

  • The AFRICOM Operations Research Analyst reviews and recommends and or applies quality control methods to products for the government.

  • This role distills structured and unstructured data into a cohesive analytical product for a senior military audience.

  • The AFRICOM Operations Research Analyst may be required to develop and deliver briefings to senior AFRICOM leadership in order to support the Command’s planning and decision processes.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Engineering, Physics or related field AND 6 years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to answer research questions through the application of regression analysis, cluster analysis, time series analysis, or other appropriate analytical techniques.

  • Ability to establish connectivity between network analysis (requests for support) and pattern analysis (apply methodologies to identify temporal/spatial/behavioral patterns).

  • Ability to build visualizations that efficiently communicate complicated findings.

  • Ability to express complex mathematical and programming concepts to end users.

  • Ability to assess threat templates, tactical profiles, and predictive analysis.

  • Ability to provide real-time connectivity between DoD and other agency datasets.

  • Expert at Microsoft Excel functions and advanced analytics capabilities.

  • Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) software such as Tableau, SAS, or Power BI.

  • Prior experience on a joint staff.

  • Knowledge of AFRICOM preferred.

Required Skills, Clearances, etc.:

  • Current TS/SCI security clearance

  • Proficient in research methods and behavioral science approaches for the purpose of influencing short-and long-term behaviors.

  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and disseminating multiple streams of qualitative and quantitative data.

  • Training and experience utilizing statistical analysis software is required in order to process technical data.

  • Hands-on experience conducting operations analysis and applied operations research

Desired Skills

  • Master’s degree in Operations Research, Math, Statistics, Engineering, and 3 years of experience.

  • Experience applying knowledge of programming languages such as R, Python, Perl, etc., to answer analytical research questions.

  • Ability to use Machine Learning for forecasting trends in data.

  • Ability to provide analysis that draws significant data from multiple disparate sources.

  • Experience and skills Cleaning, collating, maintaining and warehousing data and analysis.

  • Ability to intensively interaction with multiple disparate software systems.

  • Machine-learning experience and skills are desirable in order to better build computer-assisted research tools for assessments.
