Verizon Wireless Learning & Development Manager in Irvine, California

What you’ll be doing...

You will explore what our people need to learn to be even better. Your programs and learning approaches will align with our business needs and be highly effective and in tune with our culture. You’ll design learning solutions that are engaging, fun and most importantly build those capabilities needed to enable our people to create the Verizon of the future.

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to determine learning needs and the best delivery approach.

  • Creating innovative learning solutions for sales, products, customer service, and employee development.

  • Managing projects to create effective learning solutions on time and on budget.

  • Evaluating program effectiveness and continuously improving our solutions.

  • Providing regular updates to senior leadership on progress and results achieved.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Supporting the B2B and Data Teams on a national level.

  • Envisioning, strategizing and partnering in the development and management of programs that improve the customer experience, enhance employee engagement, drive growth, and reduce business cost

  • Functional and strategic project leadership and management responsibility, managing developing and implementing more than one large project at a time.

  • Cross functional development, implementation and management of projects that will relate to the B2B and most specifically technical learning of our B2B and Data teams.

  • Delivering training programs for functional and general skill development as well complex training programs for B2B, Data/Technical, and Learning and Development.

  • Developing educational programs that support Verizon’s strategic business objective to be known as a technology company capable of delivery emerging technology solutions to new business customers.

  • Identifying key emerging-technology educational needs through field observation and discussion of business customer scenarios with channel directors as well as attending technology events.

  • Elevating emerging-technology acumen in the B2B Channel that includes Data, SMB, and Strategic Sales that will position Verizon to meet growing business customer demands for complex technology solutions.

  • Learning & Development subject matter expertise on emerging technologies behind Verizon Wireless products and services.

  • Conducting research and analysis of emerging technology to translate complex data into comprehensive language and modality for use in B2B and Data learning nationally.

  • Exercising considerable judgment in developing programs, techniques, & evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Working without considerable direction and delegating to lower level team members.

Can be based out of any Verizon Wireless Office

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience designing custom learning programs using alternative delivery methods.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.

  • Consulted with HR professionals and their business clients.

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and training approaches.

  • Managed projects effectively balancing timeliness and quality in a fast-paced environment.

In addition:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Information Technology.

  • Technical Certifications such as Cisco, Microsoft, or CompTIA.

  • Experience with iOT, Fleet, Connectivity, Advanced Communications, and Data Applications.

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
