Verizon Wireless Technical Project Manager - Big Data in Irvine, California

What you’ll be doing...

You will be managing and leading team responsible in the End2End technical program management of strategic, transformational, cost efficient data platforms and enterprise data warehouse initiatives across Verizon Consumer Markets (VCM), Verizon Wireless (VZW) and Verizon Enterprise Solutions (VES).

Drive the E2E Technical Project Management. Activities include:

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects.

  • Lead collaborated planning, requirements, architecture & design reviews across multiple teams to create user stories, acceptance criteria and agreed-upon milestones/timelines. Ensure work flows meet security, risk and compliance requirements.

  • Ensure projects are conducted using quality principles and appropriate development methodologies.

  • Ensure adherence and adoption of standard Methods and Procedures are in place.

  • Provide direction for issue resolution, risk management and contingency planning.

  • Communicate proactively with leadership regarding status, and resolution of escalated issues accordingly. Prepare PowerPoint slides and deep dive decks, as needed.

  • Maintain effective stakeholder management.

  • Provide subject matter expertise across multiple large-scale, highly complex initiatives.

  • Communicate with business partners and customers on technical and non-technical matters.

  • Perform continuous process improvement to all PMO support and technical project management activities.

  • Manage resources, capacity, and work collaboratively with platform architecture, development, testing, operations teams to define solutions for complex code, implementation and/ or production issues.

  • Manage team’s workloads, assign right priorities and ensure business deliverable is implemented on time.

  • Motivate, coach and train staff to maximize productivity and promote their professional development, staff vacancies based on headcount and diversity targets, set employee performance objectives and manage employee performance, salary planning and administration.

  • Manage professional growth of team members.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • MBA or an advanced degree.

  • Ten or more years of related work experience.

  • Seven or more years of experience managing teams with proven ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

  • Hands-on Experience implementing large-scale projects in Analytics, Big Data migration and in Telecom industry.

  • Demonstrated strong skills in Hadoop ecosystem, Teradata and other technologies such as Kylo, NIFI.

  • Excellent AI/ML technology and digital business understanding.

  • Proficiency in Clarity, JIRA, Confluence, DevOps or other Tools.

  • Demonstrated developer/BI skills.

  • Seven or more years of hand-on hybrid Project Management experience using Agile and Traditional Waterfall project methodologies.

  • PMP Certification.

  • Demonstrated good conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

  • Proven advanced data driven decision making and conflict resolution skills.

  • Demonstrated excellent PowerPoint preparation and presentation skills, verbal and written.
