7-Eleven Community Relations Specialist in Irving, Texas


Under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Community Relations (CR), support the development, execution and continuous improvement of the company's CSR and CR strategy to enhance 7-Eleven's image and reputation in the community and with its stakeholders to create a competitive advantage and drive growth.


Community Relations: Support community relations program/project management and administrative functions to enhance our brand and

drive guest traffic/loyalty through community involvement initiatives.

  • Identify, collaborate, develop, promote and communicate community relations projects, programs and events.

  • Coordinate events including pre-event planning and on-site execution of logistics, communications, guest invitations,catering/food donations, community ads, silent auction prizes, and other deliverables as identified; conduct after action evaluationfor continuous improvement.

  • Help manage employee volunteers, community partners, vendor relations as applicable.

  • Manage the Harvest Food Rescue program to leverage store food write-offs to reduce waste and build community goodwill.

  • Handle all aspects of program administration including charity partner evaluations and onboarding and fieldoperations/Franchisee relations/support; maintain database to track program participation and donation activity; Reportresults/impact; Expand program to gain critical mass.

  • Support CR program management as directed. Support may include all or aspects of administration for select programs within thecommunity relations program portfolio: Project A-Game Grant program, Operation Chill, coupon donations, fund-raising,employee community service/volunteer projects, local corporate contributions/sponsorships/donations, SSC/Field eventmanagement, other.

  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best practices; identify/make recommendations to improve current programsand processes for continuous improvement (simplification, efficiencies, effectiveness, impact)

Corporate Social Responsibility: support development, integration and execution of 7-Eleven's CSR strategy, infrastructure and initiatives.

  • Assist with internal/external stakeholder management including developing and maintaining relationships with internal, CSR-relatedfunctional stakeholders across the business and external organizations that can strengthen credibility.

  • Help research, assess, evaluate, organize, analyze and track CSR internal/external drivers, initiatives, opportunities, KPIs andprogress

  • Support proactive research of CSR trends, competition benchmarking and best practices to enhance strategy and progress. Helpmanage CSR meetings and prepare annual performance data and feature story content.

Communications: Assist with sourcing, writing, editing, managing internal/external communications to promote company's CSR/CRinitiatives to increase awareness and credit for activity.

  • Manage content for CSR web site, social media, intranet, Franchise newsletter, and 7-Eleven Experience CSR integration.

  • Support incremental communications activities as directed.

  • Assist in developing success metrics, tracking and reporting results to drive company Leadership Principle culture and leadership,employee, Franchisee awareness and engagement.


Area of expertise: Community relations, corporate citizenship, events, corp social responsibility for a multi-unit for-profit business; retail c-store, food service

3-5 Years experience - Bachelors Degree

Experience with field operations, nonprofit organizations. Undergrad degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.

Keen knowledge of community relations principles and practices and events management; Public relations or marketing experience a plus.

Strong research, interviewing, organizational, program/project/event management skills.

Excellent verbal/written communication and analytical skills (writing AP style, negotiation, presentations)

Ability to counsel / influence internal and external stakeholders

Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously

Ability to manage effectively in a rapidly evolving, sometimes ambiguous environment

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power-Point, Access)

Ability to work outside core business hours and or travel to assist in managing special events (up to 10%)
