Principal Solution Engineer -Install Base

As a Principal Sales Consultant

you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales

technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers

while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor

for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales

opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity

tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers

outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects

of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on

overall architect solutions.

Leading contributor individually

and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is

non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced

technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and

marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer

applications or database/

tools. Ability to implement the

most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application

design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management

skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs

analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to

persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written

communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced

degree highly desirable.

As a Principal Solution Engineer

focused on working with our strategic Install Base accounts, you should have a

broad knowledge and understanding of Oracle Technology solutions and products

and how they're normally deployed at and provide value to our clients.

Your duties will include:

  • Supportingthe North America Technology Sales Organization in creating referenceableaccounts among the existing customer base by encouraging the use of,installation, or upgrade to the latest releases of applicable Oracle softwareby delivering a repeatable process for the handling of escalated customersituations

  • Proactivelyworking with the NAT Sales and Solution Engineering teams on critical accountsto determine that all internal and non-contractural roadblocks for closure areremoved

  • Minimizingthe amount of time that a given customer situation remains in an escalatedstatus

  • Working withthe NAT Sales Organization to help them deal with escalated customer situationsthey man encounter or become involved in, and to increase their productivity byreducing the amount of time they may need to spend on these situations

  • Providingguidance and advice to the NAT Sales Reps and Solution Engineers on the bestcourses of action available to help resolve customer success issues.These courses of action may involve leveraging other lines of business(LOBs) such as Development, Support, ACS, OCS, etc., ensuring the best and mostappropriate resources are engaged

  • Working withkey accounts that are implementing strategic solutions that are likely to buymore or influence other accounts in adopting our solutions. Theseaccounts may need extra attention up to and including account/projectmanagement to ensure success

  • Materiallyand favorably impacting the sales revenue for Oracle products in the NATcustomer base
