Verizon Network Systems Engineer in Irving, Texas

What you’ll be doing...

As the Verizon network evolves to the next generation of technology (iEN), the COEP Support Team roles and responsibilities will be increasing. We will have much expanded role supporting iEN Network Build, supporting new key interfaces with Cofee/CCP/ICON2.0/Nautilus utilizing iEN Barcode Templates and the build of iEN as-engineered records into COEP. In addition we will have a key role supporting iEN transformation with the plan to replace and retire over 50K Network Devices, we will need to support key data analysis to forecast retirement of millions of COEP records, support Finance & Tax Implications and support expected disposition of millions of plugin cards. We will also have key role in building the iEN NetAssist Installation application into the COEP Business & System process, utilizing remote inventory to provide the As-built to As-Engineered analysis and to set up much improved future COEP asset validation processes. We will also be supporting the iEN maintenance and visibility of plugin cards, working with PICS support on sparing plans, and with Operations & key Vendors (CISCO) on disposition/tracking of card repairs.

Engineer will need to have working knowledge of how each of our User group’s Business Process works and interfaces with the COEP application/database. Will need to have strong data analysis & data mining skills to resolve ongoing issues, especially new & evolving iEN system processes and flows. Key documents are Business M&P’s, System detail specs & System Data Dictionaries.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong Project Management skills.

  • Ability to generate, drive, and update problem-tracking tickets via multiple systems.

  • Capability to work with external and internal Verizon IT Development teams coordinating, troubleshooting, developing enhancement solutions, & finally testing/rollout releases.

  • Ability to provide timely and accurate inventory information to both management and other groups.

  • Experiencing driving automation initiatives and process improvements.

  • Ability to react quickly to changing environments.

  • Experience with COEP / Asset Management, Auditing and/or Engineering functions.

  • Experience with ICON and/or CCP (and COFFEE Engineering).

  • Strong knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) & relational database structures.

  • Experience in vSAP or nSAP Project Management tracking.
