7-Eleven Procurement Agent, Maintenance in Irving, Texas

Overview

Responsible for sourcing suppliers and negotiating contracts in the area of store equipment and related Development services. Specific categories include Store Equipment, Development Services, Construction, Maintenance and Outsourced Relationships. Will also work with current suppliers to maintain or lower costs without a reduction in the quality of equipment or services received. Will develop purchase order requests to support equipment and services procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain supplier bids/proposals, perform cost analyses, review supplier qualifications and negotiate with the most qualified supplier to obtain best value.

  • Coordinate equipment standards with suppliers and various internal departments.

  • Manage suppliers to determine specifications and requirements for material product and service.

  • Coordinate resolution to product enhancement due to improved efficiencies, and engineering changes or design problems identified through field execution.

  • Work with supplier during testing of the product or service.

  • Coordinates and communicates company recommendations and revisions for the product or service.

  • Support continuous process improvement by identifying opportunities for development and implementation of 'best practices'.

  • Maintains industry contacts and reviews publications and new suppliers to stay current on products and services to ensure obtaining the best products and services in the most cost effective manner.

  • Interview potential suppliers and determine if supplier is qualified to produce and/or supply products or services. Includes a review of supplier's production capability, ability to meet deadlines, and financial background.

  • Develop/manage equipment forecasting model for planning purposes.

  • Create purchase orders based on the material forecast to ensure proper procurement execution.

  • Upon purchase order confirmation with supplier, coordinate delivery schedule, manage delivery of materials to project site on time, and confirm order correctness.

Qualifications

  • Education:Bachelors/4 Yr Degree, CPM-Certified Purchasing Manager certification or equivalent in experience

  • Experience:3 - 5, materials management role involving forecast planning, procurement, and logistics coordination.

  • Retail construction knowledge a plus.

  • Proven negotiation experience and skills required.

  • Strong organizational skills, understanding of legal aspects, negotiating skills, purchasing terminology, cost analysis, and government regulations.

  • A clear understanding of material management and procurement procedures. (i.e. forecasting, purchase order transactions, material at vendors, developing buying rules, etc.).

  • Experience in an ERP driven sourcing environment is required.

  • Oracle Purchasing and / or Ariba Sourcing a plus.

  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams in a rapidly growing business and industry.

  • Ability to communicate technical information verbally and in writing to all levels or internal and external management
