Oracle Principal Product Manager, NetSuite in Itasca, Illinois

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Position Summary

As the Product Manager, you will work closely with product management, business stakeholders, customers and the development team to drive the development of our NetSuite Product Portfolio.You will be involved in all parts of the product lifecycle, from researching business problems, market analysis, making decisions on daily development tasks to Go-to-Market strategy and release related activities. You will also be responsible for juggling long term product priorities and short term customer needs and defects.

You will focus on one or more of these 3 core areas; Go-To-Market Strategy and Consumption, Market Strategy, and Business and Data Analysis

Market Strategy

Drive the research and discovery for your product area initially, while understanding the longer term context of your product area

Discover and document the target market segment specifics for your product area

Understand the problems of our target companies and users

Research the solutions and competitors our targets are using for those problems today

Propose how we differentiate

Define the components that will be a part of your product area

Validate and iterate

Go-To-Market Strategy and Consumption

Propose license models in line with target market expectations

Define the customer experience expectations for discovery, consideration, try/purchase, activate, configure, adopt,

support, buy more, and transition to another of our solutions

Propose target segments and boundries over time periods for your product area

Propose offering evolutions and strategy

Partner with sales enablement, marketing, services, and support to generate clearly defined objectives and timelines for launch


Partner with sales and marketing to generate interest

Focus the organization on our target

Collaborate with legal, compliance, and security to streamline launch and GTM

Business and Data Analysis

Champion all of our processes to be data driven

Recommend how we measure and report, repeatably and scalably

Assist with building business cases

Build adoption models, license models, investment models, finance models working with the finance and operations teams

Leads the way in measuring our progress toward key results

Interpret detailed data and present it back visually with summarized insights

Build leading best practices and tools that other teams will use

Preferred Qualifications



6 years of experience in Software Product Management, preferrably in a Cloud / SaaS environment

Bachelors degree in related field, MBA desirable

Collaborative, will be able to work across the org, both in and outside of product

Self critical

Understands the why (or asks why if not)

Naturally connects distinct components to the larger picture (can see the forest from the trees)

Comfortable with change; agent of change when the need is recognized

Unfazed by ambiguity - we strive to clarity, but accept undefined is the default state

Recognizes that leadership is not by authority

Strengths balance toward people and process over domain expertise

Not constrained by role definition; contributes where ever needed to make NS a success
