Eaton Corporation Lead Product Development Engineer in Jackson, Mississippi
Eaton’s Aerospace Fuel Motion Control Division is seeking a Lead Product Development Engineer to join our team. The position will be based at our Jackson, MS facility.
The Lead Product Development Engineer is responsible for performing engineering assignments involving considerable responsibility, including design and design evaluation of complex products, testing engineering problems, the development of significant criteria to support design concepts. This is an experienced level position in a team devoted to meeting customer demands by designing and certification testing hydraulic components for specific applications on various commercial and military aircraft. Products include electric motor pumps, engine drive pumps, hydraulic motors, hydraulic heat exchangers, and hydraulic reservoirs.

You will performs a variety of design and engineering calculations generally involving the application of advanced but standard mathematical formulas and available tabled or charted data. May derive formulas for the set up and solution of engineering problems.
You will support the preparation of test procedures and specifications in conjunction with engineering assignment.
You will evaluate test results to solve the adequacy of equipment design and/or identify if design modifications are needed.
You will evaluate and prepare designs for component or subassemblies, standard products, or simple systems to develop criteria for identifying design modifications.
You will drive cost reduction results through testing and preparation of engineering change proposals. You will also evaluate and establish root cause and corrective actions for unit non-conformances.
You will develop design concepts and prepare layouts using Pro Engineer to check operational feasibility.
You will Prepare and conduct design reviews and design discussions directly with the customer with no guidance or oversight.
You will prepare a variety of detailed engineering drawings that fully define the piece parts of this design concept while utilizing accepted manufacturing practices.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience.
Experience with new product development.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Jackson, MS 39206 will be considered.
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Aerospace industry is preferred.
Experience with 3D CAD modeling and the creation of detailed drawings.
Knowledge of standard aerospace manufacturing processes and ability to design for manufacturability.
Knowledge of typical DFSS tools and processes such as design of experiments, statistical testing, Tolerancing, etc.
Experience with project and schedule management.
Knowledge of aerospace component test methods and capabilities.
Position Success Criteria:
Willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
Ability to interpret aerospace technical requirement, knowledge of industry standard. requirements, and ability to flow system and component requirements down to sub-components
