Eaton Corporation Manufacturing Engineer (Final Operations) in Jackson, Mississippi

Eaton’s Power and Motion Control Division of Eaton’s Aerospace Group, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Jackson, Mississippi facility.

The Manufacturing Engineer operates within the plant Manufacturing Engineering organization and requires investigation and analysis of production methods, and/or capital equipment requirement to increase production efficiency and reduce production costs, which might involve modification of production methods.

  • You will be responsible for process planning and design, tool development and inspection sheet documentation for production processes.

  • You will direct supervision of hourly employees when Team Leader is absent and perform daily process checks to ensure compliance by technicians.

  • You will have ownership of productivity and efficiency for the final operations area.

  • You will have ownership of productivity and efficiency for the lap and clean area.

  • You will use Problem Solving tools (8D, 5 Why’s, DMAIC) to identity corrective and preventive actions.

  • You will focus on timely processing of customer returns (RMA’s) with detailed failure analysis.

  • You will identify and execute cost out initiatives through productivity improvements and support new product launches into production.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution required.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Engineering (including Co-Ops and/or Internships).

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

  • No relocation is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50 mile radius of Jackson, MS facility will be considered.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Aerospace industry.

  • Experience working in Assembly and Test operations.

  • Prior experience in a union environment.

  • Lean/Six Sigma exposure or certification.

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution, a plus.
