Job Description:

Processes routine/standard transactions according to established procedures and prescribed processes in support of GWIM Operations. Daily responsibilities will cover one or more operations functional areas such as: analyses, report generation, opening new accounts, trade processing, payment processing, data entry, etc. Provides quality service and effective and efficient operations support for the assigned area's internal business partners and/or external customers and clients. Individuals at this level are expected to use some independence of thought but to refer more complex problems to Operations Team Manager and/or Supervisor. Entry level position.

Merrill Lynch Abandoned Property is responsible for the identification, remediation and/or the escheatment of unclaimed property in line with 53 individual state and jurisdictional laws. To support is process, the abandoned property acts as a branch office designed to segregate abandoned clients while attempting to locate the lost clients. The team is broken up into the following sub-teams:

Identification and Custody – Responsible for the identification of dormant accounts, the movement of the unclaimed assets from the originating line of business into the abandoned property prefixes and the internal movement of the account back to the LOB in an instance where we are able to locate the client

Due Diligence – Responsible for supporting the client while in the Abandoned Property prefixes. This included inbound and outbound call support, email communications and processing of client requests.

Escheatment – This team is responsible for interpreting and complying with individual states laws when reporting and remitting assets to the states.

  • The ideal associate must deliver high quality customer service—stressing client focus and problem resolution. Individual must be well organized and detail oriented.

  • The individual most be able to lead others and be able to manage time effectively to assist with team projects and initiatives.

  • The associate must be able to pay close attention to detail and work well in a control/regulatory environment.
