Retirement & Personal Wealth Solutions (RPWS) serves the core financial needs of individual clients and plan participants by connecting our capabilities across the firm. RPWS is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive set of personal wealth and retirement products and services through Banking, Merrill Edge and Advisory channels. RPWS provides tools and content that enables financial advisors and bankers to help their client’s live better financial lives.

Job Description:

RPWS Business Governance Control Manager will partner with RPWS senior leadership, product managers, legal, risk, compliance and enterprise process owners to manage risk across the business. Would require interaction across all lines of business within RPWS and close partnership with control partners.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Promote a strong risk culture through identification and remediation of control gaps using the escalation and debate process

  • Manage external regulatory exams (i.e., OCC, FINRA, SEC), internal corporate audits and routine compliance testing

  • Coordinate audit issue remediation through the development of action plans, controls and sustainability activities

  • Provide guidance to business partners in creating policies and procedures to ensure critical business operational processes are well documented

  • Adhere to Enterprise Quality Assurance Program through developing and maintaining Process, Risks and Controls across organization

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required

  • Minimum of 5 years experience with risk and governance in the financial services industry, issues management experience preferred

  • The candidate should possess strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Minimum of 3 years experience interfacing with senior management, control partners, operations and various lines of business

  • Ability to plan and execute tactical actions to implement strategic objectives

  • Proven effectiveness in fast-paced, demanding environment

  • Strong leadership abilities, communication and delegation skills

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
