Job Summary

Position is contingent upon awarding of the contract.

Purpose and Scope:

Oversees the inventory operations of Government-owned mission stock. Directs employees engaged in conducting DSS inventories, researching inventory discrepancies, and documenting gains and losses through causative research, performing denial research, item data maintenance, and location surveys.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Warehousing & Distribution Support: Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Apply supply management principles, practices and knowledge of regulatory requirements to requisition, receive, storage, accountability, issue, distribute, packing and shipping functions to include Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS) relative to support services performed in support of DoD Wholesale Warehouse and Distribution Support Services.

  • Responsible for ensuring the inventory integrity of the Government-owned mission stock meets the Acceptable Performance Levels (APLs) outlined in the contract.

  • Plans the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on projected workload on a weekly or monthly basis.

  • Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences IAW general work schedules, methods, and policies established by the Site Manager and/or Alternate Site Manager.

  • Redirects workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and to accommodate daily workload fluctuations.

  • Conducts planning of current and future work schedules, providing workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as to the scheduling of projected work.

  • Ensures work is done properly and efficiently IAW the terms and condition of the contract, DLA SOPs/Manuals/Instructions. Uses DSS and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements in the PWS

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Must have a Secret clearance

  • High School Diploma required. Associate Degree or higher preferred

  • Must have a minimum of (3) years of experience using Distribution Support System or equivalent Warehouse Management System (WMS) within the past five (5) years

  • Must have a minimum of (4) years working as a warehouse/supply technician

  • Must be knowledgeable of DoD/DLA supply management principles and regulatory requirements.

  • Licensed to drive/operate Government owned MHE and pickup trucks

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of a broad range of DoD or Military Services supply procedures and regulations

  • Ability to use DLA Distribution Standard System (DSS) and other applicable DoD/DLA management information systems to validate processes contained in DLA Instructions, SOPs and Audit Readiness internal controls.

  • Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures is required to manage and control inventories

  • Skills and abilities with Inventory Management systems

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.

Preferred Qualifications

Must have a current US Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered Investigation.
