Oracle Principal Product Manager (JoinOCI-PPM) in Jacksonville, Florida

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

The OCI Data Flow portfolio includes Data Integration, Data Catalog, and the Data Management platform services to support other Data related OCI services. OCI is committed to providing the best cloud products that meet the needs of our customers who are tackling some of the world s biggest challenges. OCI is revolutnizing Big Data with disruptive simple, cloud native Big Data Services, which which unlock Big Data for Enterprises that struggle to, overcome Big Data complexities.

In February 2020, Oracle released OCI Data Flow, the industry s first fully serverless Apache Spark service, and delivers 5 major advantages over existing Big Data solutions. Expanding on this, our charter is to build a fully managed, cloud native data management suite where data can be ingested, updated and analyzed natively in the cloud using batch, interactive or streaming patterns. The Opportunity**

We are searching for a Principal Product Manager to join OCI Data Flow Service Team. In this role, you will be the product leader focused on the current and future strategy for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data Flow services. You will work collaboratively with other cloud services product managers in addition to engineering to define the requirements and deliver an innovative, market leading common data services layer to support multiple cloud services. Your charter is to drive more data and workload to the Oracle Cloud eco-system with the common data management platform. You will report to the Senior Director of Product Management based in Santa Clara, CA.

You will be joining Inbound Product Management team developing our cloud-native big data service suite. Your contributions will span a mix of batch, interactive and streaming services.

Responsibilities:

Drive key features/functions for our fully managed big data services.

Gather inputs from external and internal customers validate and prioritize development plan, and write necessary documents to guide development.

Work closely with Development and Documentation teams during the development process, ensure that the service functionality being built is consistent with customer expectations and that it also helps establish significant market leadership for Oracle compared to competing services.

Maintain deep relationships with key customers as the Development advocate/sponsor for these customers, ensure their continued success with Oracle s services, and in turn cultivate the relationships to develop highly effective marketing references.

Work with customers directly, Support, Sales and Consulting teams to understand customer usage patterns to fine-tune the service roadmap.

Work with Corporate and Field Marketing to evangelize OCI services.

Plan and execute service announcements, and help coordinate beta testing.

Provide hands-on training for Customer Support and Technical Sales personnel, as well as for select customers.

Develop collateral such as technical and business white papers, success stories, data sheets, brochures, best practices and presentations.

Maintain internal and external web sites on related technologies.

Present at Oracle user group meetings, trade shows, customer sites, industry conferences, industry analyst meetings and at the Oracle Customer Visit Center.

Qualifications:

8-10 years of product management experience

BS / MS in Computer Science or other technical background

Expertise in SQL and/or OLAP is necessary, ideally in building SQL or OLAP products professionally

Excellent written and communication / presentation skills

High-level understanding of engineering architecture plus experience working with engineering teams to deliver products or services

Analytical skills, with a passion to solve complex technology and business problems and an aptitude to learn new things

Ability to dig into the weeds as needed while at the same time able to rise up above the weeds, always keeping in mind the bigger picture

Experience dealing with a broad spectrum of IT audience ranging from CTO/CIO to database/systems/network/storage administrators

Excellent teamwork, leadership and people management skills

A can-do attitude, with a focus on deliverables and deadlines

This position is based in the USA. This job involves US-domestic and international travel on an as-needed basis.
