Job description

  • Facilitate Lean, Continuous Improvement, and 5S projects.

  • Provide lean methodology expertise for warehouse wide deployment, including core tools: 5s, Kaizen, A3 Thinking, Standardized Work, VSM, and Problem Solving, Layout optimization

  • Drives rigorous deployment and use of metrics for all functions, resulting in clear direction for continuous improvement efforts.

  • Identify opportunities to increase accuracy, optimize resources, and develop solutions and implement the solutions

  • Operate in an efficient/cost conscious manner so that all budgeted objectives are achieved.

  • Use appropriate measurements, analysis, and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document process improvements financially.

  • Monitor the progress of planned improvement implementation to assure timely action, and achievement of expected tangible benefits.

  • Determine resource needs (Management & supervisory) based on work tasks, activity levels, product dimensional profiles and technical requirements of work required

  • Use IE tools to help estimate the work content for new bids and RFQ

  • Help sites with Annual Operating Budget estimation

  • Develop training material and train warehouse personnel.

  • Communication within the organization at all levels, from individual contributors to leadership level.

  • Create, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures

Minimum Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience at a Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field

  • 5 + years of full time Lean industrial engineering experience in a warehousing / distribution center environment with proven success in cost reduction and process re-engineering projects

  • Experience with analytical tools such as flow charts, Pareto charts, cause and effect diagrams, run charts, etc.

  • Must have experience in WMS / ERP systems.

  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% to warehouse sites nearby and sites within US

  • Previous coaching and training experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills and organization skills
