Job Description

New hires in office-based roles in the US & Puerto Rico will be required, subject to applicable law, to demonstrate that they have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for a medical or religious exemption to this vaccination requirement that can be accommodated without an undue burden to the operation. However, subject to applicable law, employees working in roles that the Company determines require routine collaboration with external stakeholders, such as employees in health services, customer facing commercial, or research based roles, will be required to be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment.

The primary responsibility of the Public Sector Contracting Director is to determine and lead the Public Sector contract strategy. Key components include negotiating, managing and developing contracts for the Public Sector Segment. Additionally, associated responsibilities include determining strategies and tactics related to national accounts and commercial offers in support of our Company's vaccines portfolio along with leading the interface with key CDC personnel.

This role also leads the development of promotional tactics and field sales resources to support account management activities and pull-through to optimize vaccine utilization and ensure a positive customer experience. The Director plays the lead role in collaborating with Product Marketing and Sales organizations to ensure national account and commercial strategies and tactics are aligned with brand strategies and field sales needs. The Director role has one Senior Specialist as a direct report.

This role collaborates extensively with Global Market Access, Commercial Legal, Vaccine Marketing, and Finance to ensure that pricing program proposals meet our company's business objectives and provide access to patients. The Director serves as a subject matter expert and a key source of information concerning assigned National customer segment and commercial offer(s), and responds to queries regarding sales potential, competitive environment and optimal customer marketing and contracting strategies. Responsible for performing comprehensive analyses of targeted market segment(s), including assessment of market trends, customer needs, competitor positioning and pricing strategies, with total sales and income potential.

Assignment will provide the Incumbent with the opportunity to develop strategic thinking skills through the development of initiatives that support the effective contracting/pricing of our Company's vaccine products and help to shape the competitive position of our company's vaccines within the Public Sector customer segments.

Education Minimum Requirement :

Bachelor's degree required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred

Required Experience and Skills :

  • Minimum 10 years combined field sales, product marketing and/or commercial operation related experience.

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience developing or implementing vaccine contracts and pricing programs.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including effective collaboration skills, negotiation skills, financial acumen, problem solving skills and strong communication skills are required.

Desired Experience and Skills :

  • Multiple headquarters and field sales positions, resulting in increasing level of responsibility and breadth of experience.

  • Experience in account management and/or marketing positions such as Market Research and Marketing Communications.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, perform comprehensive analyses and monitor performance of targeted market segments, including assessment of market trends, customer needs and competitor positioning.
