Job Description:
Leidos Defense Group Modeling Simulation & Training Division has several openings for an Aerospace Engineer (all levels_ for a new program in Huntsville, Al. This position will support a new program award in support of the US Army providing full life cycle M&S and Live / Virtual / Constructive Training engineering development and sustainment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering duties in designing, constructing, and testing aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft
- Conduct basic and applied research to evaluate adaptability of materials and equipment to aircraft design and manufacture
- Recommend improvements in testing equipment and techniques
- Excellent communications skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Work with junior engineers to provide tasking and guidance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 - 25+ years of relevant experience, Master’s degree, or a PhD. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Active Secret level clearance
- System safety, and airworthiness processes and regulations experience
- Development of CONOPS, mission analysis, and/or campaign analysis
- Preparation of Design Reviews: PDR, CDR, etc.
- Demonstrated experience with Model Based System Engineering and Digital Engineering
- Aerospace and/or missile engineering experience with designing, assembling or testing applicable hardware
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience writing and capturing Airworthiness compliance requirements and documentation
- Experience with US Army Aviation & Missile Systems and/or Strategic Systems
- Solidworks or similar CAD experience
- Experience with MATLAB and/or Fortran
