C-26 Transport Aircraft Mechanic AM-3 (A&P) - Columbus OH
The C-26 Transport Senior Aircraft Mechanic/Specialist III (AM 3)
Possesses senior level experience, special certifications, qualifications, and/or expertise.
Coordinates, plans, schedules, supervises, and performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-26 aircraft.
Is responsible for all aspects of the servicing, repairing, and modifying aircraft systems at assigned site to ensure continued airworthiness, with a focus on troubleshooting.
Manages and/or performs tasks associated with the maintenance electrical systems, engines, flight controls and/or airframe components. Mentors and trains junior colleagues as required.
Capable of performing operational checks, troubleshooting, and isolation of malfunctions in aircraft
Experience in repairing or replacing components based on test results following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.
Capable of performing repair and replacement of system components based on test results following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.
Ability to interpret schematic diagrams, engineering drawings and charts of assigned systems.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Formal civilian and/or military training in Avionics desired for specialization.
A valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certificate is required.
A minimum of thirteen (13) years flight line experience on fixed-wing turboprop or turbofan aircraft required.
Thirteen (13) years specific experience on Army C-26 aircraft preferred.
Five (5) years flight line experience on program like-type fixed-wing turboprop or turbofan aircraft and/or five years’ experience in qualifying specialization desired.
Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.
Ability to obtain a Valid US Passport for OCONUS Travel if and when required for operational necessity. (Deploy the overseas locations to support operations requirements).
AM3 may be required to perform tasks or meet AM2 requirements listed above, and as applicable.
Preferred /Physical Qualifications
Be physically able to deploy to overseas locations.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Be physically able to perform aircraft mechanic duties.
Ability to move freely about the interior of aircraft and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time. Pull, push, lift to 50 lbs. Able to pass physical medical examination as required.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining professional and non-confrontational attitude.
