Where everyone matters, and everyone belongs.This role can be based in the UK, Ireland or other locations in Europe.Working together with cross-functional teams of technical peers and product experts, the Design and Bid Engineer is charged to engage technically with Eaton customers and optimize offerings in order to win large project orders. This individual owns the technical sales aspects of such bids from early engagement through to providing detailed proposals and quotations and providing a clean handover for winning bids to the projects team for execution.As part of this role, the Design and Bid Engineer directly engages with end-customer engineering contacts and key business partners such as panel builders, contractors and engineering consultants, and regularly works to influence technical specifications as early as possible in the sales. The Design and Bid Engineer will have a number of specific focal customers and partners and be expected to build and nurture a network of technical peers to become a trusted advisor and communicate the value added benefits of working with Eaton. This will include hosting and/or leading technical sessions with external stakeholders that provide updates and training as required, as well as bringing market intelligence back to internal stakeholders.The role will ideally be based in the UK (preferably in the London area) or Ireland (preferably in the Dublin area), but will also work across borders on customers and projects which may extend into other areas of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.Job Responsibilities+ Technical Expert with Data Centre Solution Design Skills and Knowledge+ Customer Centric - Engage with targeted customer engineering and/ or consultants. Build technical decision network and develop relationships from a position as a subject matter expert.+ Work with Sales team to understand focal customer business challenges and how to sell technical concepts.+ Work in a matrix environment with peers in Sales, Business Units, Projects, support and other relevant organisations.+ Discover or Nurture peer level relationships in the consultant community.+ Presentation skills and ability to present to technical audiences on a white board or more formally if required.+ Engage in the Sales Process in qualification of opportunity, influencing design, coordinating technical responses and providing quotations.+ Work cross functionally with peers in relevant business units Lifecycle Support and Product Engineering.
