Aviation Project Engineer
Leidos Security Detection & Automation programs organization is comprised of highly skilled, motivated and customer focused professionals that are experts on customer relationships, understanding their needs and providing the right solution with Leidos Aviation products.
As a Project Engineer – Aviation and working for an industry leader, you'll be responsible for managing customer relationship, reporting, cost and technical performance of aviation programs or series of programs. You will plan, organize and integrate company resources required to successfully manage the projects program and meet contractual obligations. Establish scope of works for the team and obtaining their commitments to deliver, by being the main interface to the customers while delegating specific contact roles to other team members.
Reporting to directly to the Portfolio Manager, with a dotted line to the Program Manager (PM), this is an exciting opportunity to use your project engineering, technical expertise and project/program coordination skills to contribute to our team’s success in the Europe and Africa region. Travel will be required at times, although many duties can be performed from the UK.
In this mission, we look for ambitious candidates who would play a key role in the initial phases of the project/programs and continue to support them until achievement of a successful handover to the customer or our Service team. The roles and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include but are not limited to the roles described below.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Project documentation, submission and approvals
Technical and design coordination, attend meetings
Support PM for shipment, delivery, storage coordination
Oversee project schedule and site progress with Site Supervisor
Support Site Supervisor on site coordination and documentation
Basic Qualifications
To be considered for this role you must have:
Degree in Engineering discipline, or relevant experience
Excellent on MS Office, MS Project, Acrobat
Working knowledge for Project Coordination and Documentation
Project engineering experience in Security Screening and Explosive Detections Systems
Demonstrable experience in a similar role, with the ability to visualize and discuss solutions with confidence
Effective communication skills both written and verbal
Demonstrable business and financial acumen
Proven cost management and sales productivity experience
A strategic mindset
A collaborative approach with the ability to adapt and lead change courageously
Security clearance is an advantage but not essential as applications will be made
Preferred Qualifications
AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, Primavera, PMP, and Finance knowledge is a plus

Location:
Depending upon candidate home location the role will be based from either our Bedford centre of excellence hub or home based in addition role includes regular travel to other locations within the UK and worldwide, therefore a valid passport and full driving licence is mandatory.
