Our business helps support their way of life and contributes to the survival of a culture that has thrived in a challenging environment.**Job Summary:**The IT SME Functional Area Lead for Storage and Virtualization provides high-level subject matter proficiency for work described in the task. Provides advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environment, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, training, and implementation advice on complex problems that require extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.Primary responsibilities consist of providing support and analysis of storage solutions in a virtualized environment, including best practices for storage engineering and architectural design as well as Virtualization design in an enterprise (>3000 users) environment. Install and configure new storage solutions, including CommVault and Dell/EMC products and display knowledge of virtualization products, including VMware. Apply knowledge of and follow existing methods and standards, follow change management practices, and display strong interpersonal and communication skills. Work at the enterprise level with systems administrators, and database administrators in determining disk storage allocation, backup and restore requirements, and redundancy needs. Evaluate new hardware and software management solutions. This project operates 24x7x365 operations, day, evening, night and weekend shifts. Candidates must be willing to work shifts.**Responsibilities:**+ Strong communications skills (message management).+ Participate in weekly site team lead meetings and disseminate messages to be shared with functional area employees.+ Represent IAFNOS from a functional area perspective in daily meetings, functional area summits and ensure project and functional area messaging is communicated clearly and professionally, emphasizing a single IAFNOS team (meaning all locations, not just one) when speaking.+ Supervise functional area team, provide performance feedback, training, mentoring, and develop and communicate each team members growth path and provide continual feedback on progress of employees progress toward this growth path.+ Work with other locations to build a culture of a unified team environment.+ Advise management on employees progress, or lack thereof toward the growth path defined to the employee and other observations regarding each employees performance.+ Develop, coordinate and communicate shift schedules, ensure shift coverage requirements are met as well as TPI, clearance compliance per shift and ensure employees do not feel stuck on a shift.+ Ensure that as attrition occurs that remaining employees are considered for promotion prior to communicating staffing needs to the site lead.+ Manage timesheets and employee leave schedules.+ Participate and encourage employee appreciation initiatives.+ Create and maintain an environment conducive to employees feeling comfortable expressing concerns or issues.**Qualifications****Minimum Qualifications:**+ 12 years of experience.+ Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.+ 4 years of experience with IT in an enterprise infrastructure environment.+ 3 years of experience in a multi-platform environment, including work with Microsoft Windows, Sun Solaris, or Linux.+ Experience with Storage and/or Virtualization+ Knowledge of iSCSI, Fiber Channel, and I/O storage subsystems.+ Knowledge of domain architecture, and design requirements.+ Knowledge of Dell/EMC storage solutions and the ways to store, protect, and optimize information.+ Ability to implement, configure, and troubleshoot CommVault.+ Knowledge of VMware architecture in an Enterprise Environment. The ability to install, configure and troubleshoot VMware.**Additional valuable skills:**+ Familiar with the design and deployment of large-scale storage and virtual environments.+ Knowledge of short-distance LAN and long-distance WAN data replication, including the various technologies available to perform the replication, including the use of encryption.+ Knowledge of networking technologies, including protocols, routing, QoS, NIC, and HBA.+ Knowledge of information life-cycle management concepts and best practices.+ Knowledge of LAN and WAN infrastructures.+ Knowledge of Network Attached Storage Gateway devices.+ Knowledge of SAN and NAS environments with large enterprise storage systems.+ Knowledge of Windows-based operating systems.+ Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory skills.+ Knowledge of VMWare.**Certifications Required:**+ DoD 8570 requirement IAT Level II, CompTIA Security or equivalent (no exceptions) and+ CCNA Data Center (Functional Area Lead) and+ VMWare Certified Professional 5 or 6 (Senior Virtualization positions) **OR**+ EMC Information Storage and Management Associate (Senior Storage positions).**Clearance:**+ Possess a DoD Secret security clearance (Required) Top Secret preferred.The duties and responsibilities listed in this job description generally cover the nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
